My pleasure, meema - glad you've enjoyed it. An unusual, if welcome, moment on the Today show!

John Burns also recently confirmed that our invading US and coalition forces
WERE greeted with flowers and candy by grateful Iraqi citizens. He saw many instances, personally.
So Cheney was right. (That must've had Burns's NYT employers getting their firing pens poised!)
But Burns added, however, that the joy and gratitude expressed toward Americans by Iraqis came to an abrupt end, with the looting that followed the toppling of Saddam.

...tearful ads on television in an attempt to get the public to demand that Bush stop all the bloodshed in Darfur....
&&
Have you noticed how sly those ads are? To the truly ignorant, of which there are many, unfortunately, the wording implies that Bush is somehow responsible for Darfur. (Of course, since Bush causes so much evil in the world and can even cause hurricanes, perhaps he is.) People that design tv ads are not stupid, so I doubt this in unintentional. Why doesn't the ad say, for instance, "Tell the islamofascists to stop the killing in Darfur"?

I believe one of Bill O'Reilly's guests on last night's show said there would be one million deaths and five million displaced persons if we withdrew from Iraq today.
****
And how many deaths and other atrocities in the US when the islamofascists got the message that we do not have the stomach to stay in a fight when it gets too bloody?

I don't think future acts of terrorism in the US are relative to Iraq. They're being planned now regardless of whether we stay the course or not.

The Democrats are rehabilitaing Pol Pot's image. He'll look like a piker compared to the tens of millions murdered if the Democrats stab an ally in the back again.
