Zyuganov greets Russians on Easter and appreciates Russian Orthodox Church’s prophetic mission - 05 April 2007 - Moscow, April 5, Interfax - The Communist Party of the Russian Federation leader Gennady Zyuganov greeted the Russians on the occasion of Easter Day using the traditionally Christian form of address, ‘brothers and sisters.’ ‘Our nation’s best features as endurance and patience, courage and valor, justice and tenderness, allow us to believe now that our Easter hopes will be fulfilled and Russia will shortly rise in her ancient power and glory,’ Zyuganov said in his statement published in Moscow on Thursday. ‘Recently we have more often heard the voice of the Russian Orthodox Church as she denounces immorality and greed, castigating outrageous social inequality of today’s Russia, works to help many our compatriots deprived of their livelihoods, points at intolerability of trampling on human dignity and national identity of the Russian people,’ he said on behalf of the ‘Russian patriots.’ ‘This day I am especially pleased to send my Easter greetings to all clergy and people of the Russian Orthodox Church both in Russia and oversees. I believe that by our common effort we will restore a Great Russia with pure and loving heart of the Holy Rus,’ Zyuganov added.
