White House withdraws ambassador nominee
Associated Press ^ | 28 March 2007 | SAM HANANEL

WASHINGTON - President Bush on Wednesday withdrew the ambassadorial nomination of businessman Sam Fox after Democrats denounced Fox for giving money to a controversial conservative group that undermined Sen. John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign.

Kerry, D-Mass., had criticized Fox because of a $50,000 contribution that Fox made in 2004 to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

Many Democrats blame the group for sinking Kerry's presidential hopes that year after it aired a series of controversial ads that impugned Kerry's military record in the Vietnam War.

"Sam Fox had every opportunity to disavow the politics of personal destruction and to embrace the truth," Kerry said Wednesday. "He chose not to. The White House made the right decision to withdraw the nomination. I hope this signals a new day in political discourse."

Well I'm glad Sen. Kerry is happy.

Wow. Help a president get elected raising over $200,000 and you get kicked to the curb for your efforts. I think there is enough backbone in the WH to make one piano key.

Contribute to Al Gore's Presidential campaign using the name of your CIA business front, and you get put on a pedestal by the Democrats.

Sounds like a reason to support Fox's nomination, not withdraw it.

Maybe the president is reserving his ammo for the veto of the military appropriations bill.

Only Kerry would be dumb enough to keep bringing up the one thing that he is forever vulnerable on.

Sign the Form 180 John.

What a bunch of crap!

So let me get this straight:

- The Swiftboat Veterans For Truth tell the TRUTH about Kerry

- The Swiftboat and POWs Veterans for Truth is made up of American heroes

- Sam Fox gave them a contribution

- The Media and Kerry go ballistic on him for no other reason than revenge because Kerry was embarrassed for being found out to be a coward and a liar

- GW Bush abandons Sam Fox

Disgusting display of the President pandering to a fraud, and Kerry still gets away with calling the Swifties liars. It just blows one's mind!

Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., said it was "disappointing that a capable and qualified candidate with bipartisan support has become a victim of a political vendetta."

Getting nominated for a judgeship or ambassadorship by the President is much akin to being named as a local terrorist leader by Al-Quaeda... a big ol' target is put on your head and no help from those who named you.

WH will have to to get an imam to fill the post to make the dhimmicratic party happy. Way things are, might be sooner than expected, they already have invaded congress...

Democrat Keith Ellison is now officially the first Muslim United States congressman. True to his pledge, he placed his hand on the Quran, the Muslim book of jihad and pledged his allegiance to the United States during his ceremonial swearing-in.

Capitol Hill staff said Ellison's swearing-in photo opportunity drew more media than they had ever seen in the history of the U.S. House. Ellison represents the 5th Congressional District of Minnesota.

The Quran Ellison used was no ordinary book. It once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States and one of America's founding fathers. Ellison borrowed it from the Rare Book Section of the Library of Congress. It was one of the 6,500 Jefferson books archived in the library.

Ellison, who was born in Detroit and converted to Islam while in college, said he chose to use Jefferson's Quran because it showed that "a visionary like Jefferson" believed that wisdom could be gleaned from many sources.

There is no doubt Ellison was right about Jefferson believing wisdom could be "gleaned" from the Muslim Quran. At the time Jefferson owned the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic "Barbary" states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.
