New York City sued the major tobacco companies yesterday to recoup the billions of dollars that Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani said the city has spent to care for people with illnesses caused by smoking.
Philip Morris, one of the city's largest and most influential corporations, assailed the lawsuit but said it was not considering shifting jobs from the city.

This was just a matter of "join the club." Back then, every city and state wanted a piece of the tobacco pie.

Should we anticipate more of this nonsense, only at the national level, if Rudy is elected President? All of his supporters have told me he is consistently unwavering and bold - no flip-flopper is he! Therefore, I have to figure that we should expect a lot of this stuff being championed by him if he makes it to the top. Perhaps he will gut the fast food industry for making us fat. Or the car companies for knowingly selling cars capable of driving over the speed limit.
Rudy the leopard will not change his spots. I don't think he will stop with gun makers and tobacco companies.

Should we anticipate another co-presidency of Mr. & Mrs. Bill Clinton if we keep tearing down the people capable of stopping that from happening.
Goal #1 - Keeping those grifters away from the White House.
If you won't vote for Rudy in the general election, at least do the right thing and switch parties to vote for Obama in the Dem primary.

Maybe we should keep all of Rudy's liberal activities and philosophies secret until after the election. All this talking about his past actions is distracting folks from listening to his conservative talking points. If we keep seeing articles like this which put Rudy's liberal tendencies on display, we run the risk that many Republicans will realize who he is. And that would be bad, right?

Philip Morris, one of the city's largest and most influential corporations, assailed the lawsuit but said it was not considering shifting jobs from the city. They didn't do it then - but they sure as heck did when Bloominidiot banned smoking.....a Mayor, I might add, who was endorse by Rudy.

Actually, I'm too politically astute.
First thing about politics is winning elections, period.
To: pissant
Find me the "conservative" who keeps the Clintons from winning first.
To: threeleftsmakearight
Any of the conservative GOP candidates will do just that.

And "any" of the conservative GOP candidates can win?
Remember, Thompson isn't official yet.
To: mysterio
Washington couldn't possibly have known what a frappe of disgusting miscreants one of the major political parties would become. He probably couldn't fathom that a political party would actively become anti everything he believed in, or fathom that a major political party would literally become un-American.
