Continuing his courtship of conservatives, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is running radio ads on the popular talk radio shows hosted by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
"My campaign is about leadership and optimism," Giuliani says in the ad. "We need strong leadership to stay on offense in the war against terrorists." (Listen to the ad here.)
He also highlights his support for "supply side policies and reduced government spending" to "keep the economy growing."
The commercial ends with a plug for his campaign site -- joinrudy2008.com.

I certainly think he could, in theory. Fred's kind of like the right's version of Obama. He's an engaging outsider, looks good on TV, and he's somewhat of a projection board for those that aren't happy with their other options. We're as eager to put the Ronald Reagan mask on him as the left is to put the Bill Clinton mask on Obama. (Which is endlessly ironic, in my opinion).
The difference being, Obama is in the race, and Fred is not. There's not an infinite amount of money, industry support, and time out there. Raising the kind of money you need to become President these days is a full time job, and one you need to start early on. Fred could make a play for it, and give Giuliani a run for his money, so to speak. But he loses ground and time every day he delays. Things aren't like how they used to be. You can't afford to wait until the fall to decide what you want to do. If Fred wants a shot, it's time to step up to the plate and start swinging.
Yup. His window to get into this thing won't be open much longer.
sheesh
Sure he is. We just discussed that. Apparently he's also running ads, which is the subject of this article. Giuliani is aggressively courting the talk radio crowd, where he probably percieves a lot of ambivalent or undecided feelings towards his candidacy. Which is pretty smart. If he can win over the hosts and their audiences, that's a huge advantage for him.
I don't listen to Hannity . I listen to Rush without commercials. I am spared from hearing this tripe.
Newt possibly, Fred never...
What do you mean? That you'd vote for Newt, but not Fred? That's a new one on me.
The "Conservative Party" is not going to win the next election.
Republicans willmaybe with Newt Gingrich (or other southerner) as VP to balance the ticket.
We will see. Nothing is ground in stone yet. Everything is up for the taking. It's later than you think!
Sorry but I don't have a guy as of yet. And what exactly am I misreading about the current polls?
Didn't Kerry advertise on Talk radio?
Thanks Peach! Glad to be back. I felt so out of the loop! LOL! I guess I'm still addicted to Free Republic. Rehab doesn't work! LOL!
He must have - he had tons of money - but are there leftist radio shows? LOL!
LOL! What do you suppose the Founding Fathers would think of his position on guns?
Rudy please go home and let a coservative run, as you are not one???
Who's stopping conservatives from running??? Where are they??? Why don't they have the ability to get a coherant, widely appealing message out???
Yer back, 51. Us reality based moderates missed you.
True but it's been a while since the GOP front runner going into the primaries failed to get the nomination. It's been a much more secure spot than in the Dem primary process.
Rush has made no anouncement that Rudy is going to be on his show. If he is running ads during the duration of the show, that is no endorsement from Rush.
I haven't heard Rush endorse anyone. Rush did mention repeatedly that he is conservative in all ways. Rudy is not.
Rush stated after the 2006 elections that he would no longer "carry the water" for the RINOs , and RINO behavior in the GOP.
He better stick to that.
I am thinking he will stick to that.
I'm holding some money back as are many others. Fred can join in at his leisure.
