How about this ~ a new slogan ~ "No victory; No peace."

Dems know what that means.

Ummm, it's an open secret that any agency truly dealing with national security won't tell Congress about important classified material. It's a tension between Congress's Constitutional oversight responsibilities and the agency employees oaths to defend the Constitution against any enemies "foreign or domestic." Congress as a whole can't be trusted with national security information.

Only Congress, the President, and the NYT will know.

I had a girlfriend in college who got a tattoo but couldn't show it to me because it was half priced.

He just doesn't want anyone outside the White House, Congress and the Iraqi government to know what it is.

In other words, the secret would last for oh... about... forty two seconds.

By telling those entities the information, he might as well buy an ad in the NY Slimes.

Who does he think he's kidding, Geeze these democrats insult my intelligence..!!

Nothin' wrong with a girlfriend with a half-priced tattoo as long as she's "fully packed"...lol.

George Bush won't tell us why we are fighting in Iraq, the Press won't tell us who told them they are flushing Korans in Gitmo, or who outed Valarie Plame, and now the dems want a secret withdrawal date. There is too much frigging "trust me" in Washington.

I burst out loud at the headline alone. Like Congress will keep their mouths shut about this matter. They really DO instult our intelligence.

I think they're voting on pulling out of Iraq late this afternoon.

"How about they think we will NEVER leave until they cut the shit or are dead. If they THOUGHT that, we might actually win. If they KNOW we are leaving, and soon, we have already lost. And every soldier that dies between now and then, because the dems DEMAND defeat, really will have died for nothing."

You have stated my thoughts on this ELOQUENTLY.

The problem w/ Iraq is we cannot fight the Jihadists, Sunni insurgents and Shia militia's all at once. They all want ultimate control of the country and have different driving factors. The best way to win the war is to get the Sunni's to fight the jihadists and get the Shia militia's to take a break.

The 'Surge' has caused the Shia to back down while they perceive us as taking care of their Sunni enemy for them. The impending withdrawal date has caused the Sunni to calm down as well. Meanwhile the foreign jihadists have tried to pickup the slack and gotten themselves on the Iraqi Sunni's bad side for bombing children. The Sunni's now view the Al Queada as bloodthirsty terrorists with a desire to die for Allah regardless of if they are fighting American's or not. Meanwhile the entire opposition force requires money and salaries for it's fighters.

I personally think a withdrawal date is a good thing if it is 10-18 months out. This would cause most fighters to resort to civilian occupations during the wait for the American's to leave. Why die fighting for what will inevitably occur anyway?

In the meantime the US pulls a double-cross where the withdrawal date can be extended by 12 months at a time per request by the Iraqi government. This provision is what needs to be keep a secret.

If all works out well. The Sunni's will route the foreign Terrorists, or at least turn them in to us to do it while the Shia militia's take a break. But the time the withdrawal date rolls around everyone has learned that peace is more profitable than war.

If things go bad we let the Iraqi government dictate if they need us to stay or not.

BTW - we can always retreat to Kurdistan!

Being a democRAT in Washington means getting away with anything and never having to say you're sorry.

I agree. Democrats are the spoiled children of the human family.

Something happens to demagogues when they are placed in a position of responsibility.
