A Fred Thompson presidential run is looking more and more likely, says DC columnist and political insider Robert D. Novak:
Close friends of Fred Thompson say his wife Jeri is urging him to take the plunge later this year and run for the Republican presidential nomination.
The former senator from Tennessee and current actor on "Law & Order," in private conversation, makes it clear that he is seriously interested in launching a candidacy that has attracted extraordinary attention over the last two weeks. However, he does not plan to announce his candidacy in the immediate future.
The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate. His friends respond that this is an easily correctable error and that the same complaint was made about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president.
Thompson's wife is Jeri Kehn, was a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C., when they married in 2002. She also previously worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee.
'Cute' is for girls, babies, kittens and puppies.
She's beautiful and looks to be in great shape.
And....she probably never wears pantsuits. LOL!
I think we need to find a better picture. He looks about 80 and she looks 18. I know that she is only 30 years younger, but this picture does not show that.
Looks like he's gonna' run.....who'd want to say "no" to her?
From Wikipedia:
On June 29, 2002, Thompson married Jeri Kehn, an attorney and a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C. She once worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee. In October 2003, they had a daughter, Hayden Victoria Thompson. He also has three grown children from a previous marriage, one of whom is deceased (Elizabeth "Betsy" Thompson Panici on February 1, 2002) , and five grandchildren.
And according to the Internet Movie Database, he was married to Sarah Elizabeth Lindsey from 1959-1985 (I read elsewhere that they got a divorce).
IMDb also says that he's 6'6", whoch would make him our tallest President (Lincoln was 6'4"). http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000669/bio
That's his 2nd wife. He was married for 17 years to the first missus. It was an amicable breakup.
How old is she?
So Romney remains one of the few candidates to have only one wife. ;-)
Isn't it funny that the only potential nominee who hasn't had multiple marriages is the Mormon?
And the one who is accused of changing his mind.
'Isn't it funny that the only potential nominee who hasn't had multiple marriages is the Mormon?'
Yes, and Mrs Romney appears to have the class to be the First Lady of these great United States.
First marriage ended in divorce...like Ronald Reagan's first marriage.
Listen to your wife, Fred! :)
Second wife - another way he is like Reagan.
Hah. Maybe having a second wife can now euphemistically be described as Reaganesque. ;-)
I was thinkin' 38C, at least.
There is nothing more helpful to a man than a good wife. He'll make better decisions with her counsel and live longer to boot! :)
She's a lot younger. She's the trophy wife. First wife too old!
"I know that she is only 30 years younger, but this picture does not show that."
So when he was 40 she was 10?
ick.
"Isn't it funny that the only potential nominee who hasn't had multiple marriages is the Mormon?"
Lets not forget, Nancy Reagan was not Ronald's Reagan's first wife.
