Herschs' treachery will inevitably catch up with him

He just has hearsay information. Only good for propaganda. This may constitute giving aid and comfort to the enemy, but hostilities have not yet broken out.

"Treason is the new Patriotic, if you ask a liberal."

That's how "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" came about.

"General Hersh knows as much about US military contigency against Iran as I do."

I wouldn't be so sure about that. He obviously has moles within both State and Defense. His remarks need to be carefully reviewed by the CIA and if he has in fact shared any classified info he needs to be hung by the nuts.

Hangman hangman hold it a little while.....

Hersh is just one more example of the Anti American Left, they do not understand that "negotiations" do not work with people who are happy to die as they kill other people.

There are all kinds of war game scenarios done in the Pentagon all the time. Hersh doesn't know anything that isn't common knowledge. So Iran is on the list of nations where war gamming exists: big deal.

Any State Department "mole" isn't going to be any more helpful than a NY Times reporter speculating on what the Oval Office is considering.

Now if Hersh gets his hands on any classified material, both he and the leaker would need to face the consequence of such actionable material.

You mean like the 'black" ops done by the CIA in Europe that the times reported on, or the financial ops that the times reported on.

The nyt and seymore in particular are past experts at releasing classified materials. He gets his jollies by pushing the envelop.

He states clearly that the CIA is in Iran, where i9s he getting that info?

So Hersh is a traitor. No surprise here. These media idiots think they can do anything. I'm offended that this person still lives in this country and makes his money here.

"He should be 'terminated.'"

Now, let's deal with these things legally.

Let's make this generally known, so that no one buys anything with Seymour Hersh's name on it again. And the man should be shunned. That's the original meaning of the term "boycott".

I think in order for it to be treason he'd have to be giving out information that couldn't be guessed at by any random idiot. If you interviewed some 6 year-old coming home from school they'd probably say that if the US attacked Iran it would be in the form of lots of bombing then ground forces. If this was actually news to the Iranians they're screwed.

Agreed. I'm surprised Hersh didn't indicate that the US is also planning on using guns, airplanes, missles, troops, airmen, Marines and sailors, too. I'd like to think that the US has a plan for action in or against EVERY county - just in case. Granted, the plan for saving Iceland probably doesn't get updated as often as trouble in Taiwan (or Tehran), but the need contingency planning would seem to be quite important.

Hersh isn't doing much more than speculating, which is about all his stuff ever turns out to be. He has good sources but if he sticks to them his stuff isn't particularly controversial. To make it saleable he extrapolates. That isn't journalism, it's fiction writing.

Large-scale military operations aren't really his field, either. But if he wants to scare the crap out of the Iranians I wouldn't lift a finger to stop him.
