"for carrying a loaded gun and two full ammunition magazines into a Senate office building"
What caliber?
Republicans need to know exactly what munitions threat level they face everyday in a secured Senate office building!

Given Webb's obvious instability I think we're lucky the other guy was carrying it.

The government needs to do a background check on this weapon and see who it really belongs to and where it came from!

Webb will be charged with no crime. His aide will take the fall 100%.

Webb is a nutjob, seriously, the aide may have been carrying it to protect himself FROM Webb.

I agree. Although I watched Webb on a tv interview awhile back and per his words, he supposedly ran on a pro-gun platform. So, guess we will see when his leader Nancy Pelosi brings some anti-gun legislation to the floor - which she will eventually do. Actually, there are several new democrat congressmen such as Webb who ran as conservatives, pro-gun and such, who will have to "walk the talk" at some point in the future. It will be interesting to see if they vote their pre-election positions and go against their leadership or not.

I could not believe it when Mort on Brit's show tonight mentioned that this might prevent Webb from being considered as a candidate for VP. Apparently, he thought that a less than one term Senator with a volatile personality would make a good VP because he is from VA and is pro-gun.

This aid should fight this unconstitutional law(s). I see no problem with him carrying ... especially in the Senate building.

Yeah, if I had to work with such a criminal element everyday, I wouldn't want to be unarmed, either.

I value the opportunity to be able to protect myself, depending on situations. Exactly what 'situation' is Sen. Webb expecting to encounter while at work?

This looks very bad for Mr. Webb. Can you imagine the uproar if former Senator Allen had ever done this. He was run out of town on a rail for using a questionable ethnic term. Democrats can do no wrong.
To: AZRepublican
I think this guy has several violations besides those associated with his carrying the gun and ammunition into a federal building. I believe he can also be charged with violating the Washington, DC laws against carring/possessing the same.
It will be interesting to see is there is any serious charge that results besides probation.
