HONESTY PING:

It is possible that every single one of you has a family member SOMEWHERE who you would see die before sharing your body parts with them.

I know I do, and I think it is a safe bet that you all do too.

Admit it.

I just did.

Nope, not here. I'm nowhere NEAR that selfish.

Huh.

Been thinking about this for a few minutes, just to make sure, but I can't think of one. Honestly.

In fact, I can't think of a single person I know that I wouldn't do it for.

Now, I can think of a lot of people I don't like hanging around with, but I'd still probably give them whatever they needed.

Weird. But I'll keep trying.

No. I've tried to run through the worst ones in my mind. The ones that scammed my Grandmother, the ones that repeatedly made my Mother cry. No, I would go through bone marrow donation before I would let them die. Regardless of what my family would think of me for turning them down, regardless of what God would think of me for turning them down, I could not go to sleep at night knowing I let them die.

Can't think of any myself.

You'd lose that bet. Sorry about your family situation; here's hoping you can get it resolved.

I don't.

I'm going to guess that if push comes to shove and your unliked family member is about to die, that you would donate.

Just a guess, that's all.

Absolutely not. Even if I didn't care for some relative (which is not the case, fortunately), my regard for my family as a whole would guarantee that I would not act in such a small minded fashion that I would treat him or her any worse than I would a total stranger.

I have always had a low regard for those who in such a cowardly manner deliberately abuse those close to them in such a manner. This woman is not just victimizing her brother, but his whole family through him. That's the mentality of those who are unfeelingly capable of committing inhuman atrocities, IMO.
