Hello all,
I figured everyone here would enjoy this quote - even if you're not a Yankees fan (poor, depraved souls that you are, lol)...enjoy!
From the linked article:
The bees are back: For the second time in a week, the Yankees were chased off the field by a swarm of bees.
On Sunday, they came by the hundreds during batting practice and buzzed from left field to the area around second base, where they hovered and eventually congregated on a metal screen on the infield.
Three brave workers at Joker Marchant Stadium folded up the screen and wheeled it out past the outfield wall, to a round of applause and the relief of all.
"They must be liberal bees," Torre observed. "They seem to fly to the left."
What's wrong with a guy wanting to get out of the bay area?
A99-Thanks for the Torre quote.
New York Yankees ping!
I've always thought there is a positive correlation between folks that hate on the Yankees for their capitalistic ways and those that think nationalized health care is a swell idea!
Zito 12-14 6.49 ERA w/Giants. Bonds 16 HR, one for each million.
I'm not a Yankee fan, but I've always liked Torre.
I grew up in Fremont so I saw many A's games. I like Zito on and off the field but I just don't see the supporting cast in SF doing what the A's did for him.(BTW, this thread didn't go anywhere did it?)
Same here. It's a shame Ted Turner fired him as Braves Manager in 1984, after leading the perennial cellar-dwelling Braves to first, second, and second place finishes.
