Lots of breast-beating, but what you advocate is not supportable politically. Do you think the American public and the Dems in Congress will support military strikes against Iran today based on the seizure of 15 UK sailors? Hell, the US military and the President had said that Iranians are supplying the weapons to kill American personnel in Iraq. What has the reaction been by Congress? Where is the outcry from the public to do something?

Maybe we should call the Democrats bluff instead of demanding preemptively surrendering to their whimsy?

I guess the fact the Executive is a Co-Equal branch of the US Govt seems to have been forgotten by most of the Baby Boomers hmmm? You all seem to have this odd notion that the President is some sort of Clerk of Congress. There is a very good reason the War Powers Act has never been implemented by either a Republican or Democrat Congress.

Both sides know it would never survive a court challenge.

Gee I am so sorry you find the concept of the President as Commander in Chief so difficult to comprehend. The President has utterly no legal need to consult Congress on this at all. Try reading Article 2 Section 2 of the US Constitution. The Dims cannot even get the votes for their stupid Iraq "non binding: Iraq resolution in the US Senate. You think they have the votes to cut off funding to active operations? Dream on.
