I know where you are going and you are right,it's that reality thing, but truth is now is the time to hug the candidate of your choice even long shots.(just so long as when it counts, after the convention, we all come together)

Every time they insist on "date certain" or "final day" or anything like that just show how little they care for the welfare of the troops or the country or what we have achieved in Iraq for that matter. That liberals don't care about the troops is nothing new. It reminds me of something that happened right after Clinton took office. My base at that time (Miramar) received word from the DoD that our fuel usage requirements were 'under review'. Some Clintonista had noticed that during takeoffs, Tomcats would use afterburner, (which uses fuel at an incredible rate) especially those leaving a Carrier.
Now, the Pentagon knew that the reason for this was safety, having been supplied with a lousy engine in the older birds, the afterburner would prevent a compressor stall which could cause a crash if it happened at the wrong time.
But, would they tell the Clinton folks that? Nope. A full audit of our fuel use was done, with suggestions made that we try to be more fuel efficient when flying. It was even suggested that we be less aggressive in our maneuvering, because violent maneuvers can cause us to use more gas. This is 100% true.
The word was to simply ignore the suggestion, because everyone knew that Clinton would be gone in four years. What we didn't know, was that the GOP would run Bob Dole.

Yeah, but we need to come to reality before the convention, and not let hard feelings fester into people not going to the polls out of spite. I know this occurs all the time, but this is going to be an election where every vote counts.
Just think of what could have been avoided had there been no Ross Perot. You can bet that McCain and others are already working on their third-party strategies.

Fuel mileage over lives and safety, why does that not surprise me. Truth is so much damage was done during the clinton years we may be tallying up the totals for a long time. Last thing we need is a repeat.
I think whomever we get this time we should be able to handle Hillary,it's the Congress that worries me.

A repeat of Tom Delay's talk is on CSPAN-2 .. NOW.
It's a little late into it .. the whole thing is fantastic.
What's germaine to us is his take on the huge 700 org. network that Hillary built .. he's trying to emulate that, but he says it's powerful .. (and scary how they set out to do this purposely after they left the WH) and that they cover every part of politics. All the "progressive" think tanks, websites, orgs etc. are formidable. He says if conservatives aren't careful, SHE will be pres.

On our way home from FL last week, DeLay was on someone's radio show and it was scary listening to him talk about the network that Hillary has built over the years. And with the media on their side, it's going to be uglier than ugly.

Thanks much Star,DeLay is one of my heroes.
He is scared,(can't say the word),about the dems and their money/power base which is seemingly endless.
If anyone can counter what they have done it's DeLay.

DeLay was awesome. Wish I could have seen it all, here's a few samples:
"We spend more on potato chips in this country than we do electing our officials"-- McCain/FineGold is illegal and a travesty.--This is how special groups can dump 13 million into an election and none is attributed to the democrat party."
Delay was great.

Now, I really get it. You guys didn't have a clue what was about to come down on your heads. The Shaw was overthrown and you Embassy types thought everything was fine. Then, month by month you had to slowly turn the Embassy into a virtual fortress, as the initial thoughts of everything was fine got slowly replaced with this little thing that I personally like to refer to as "reality".You couldn't be more wrong. But based on your comments, you are more interested in making gratuitous insults than learning the truth.
By the way, who was this "Shaw" guy?

I look MORE forward to his commentary on the pre-view thread than I ever do ...to the actual shows." Txsleuth
I was thinking that last night. The very best commentary written on-line or off, and the best written.
Thank you, Phsstok.

"Public opinion and reelection affect everything they deal with whether it is illegal immigration, entitlement reform, or foreign policy. Add to that the influence of lobbyists and money and you have the typical Congressman."
I agree; therefore, WE should be talking to them more, rather than less.
