It's interesting to see France, Russia, and China agree to public slaps at Iran.
Ahmadinejad must not be feeling much love about right now.

Should be plenty of bluster from Iran's mouthpiece. To match the "bluster" that just came out of the UN.

Sanctions should be enforced by closing the Straits of Hormuz to Iranian traffic until the marines are returned.

What hurts Iran from their point of view is the humiliation factor in this resolution- it really doesn't matter that it does or doesn't have any teeth.

Oh yeah, they're feeling the heat. I may be in the minority here, but I can think of very few countries that want Iran to possess the big one, and we may be able to prevent it without any military action. It's just not in anyone's interest to see the ME go nuclear. They will be stopped.

Totally worthless. The time to do something was when the Brits were being surrounded. Imagine the sick feeling they must have had to see their commander do nothing.

The article says "moderately tougher" sanctions. Somehow I can't see that amounting to too much.

OK UN, Back US up and your resolution up by supporting this war on terror.
By the way, I think Ahmamurdererjad has something he isn't letting anyone in on. I think he is much farther ahead in his little "hobby" than we realize, and I think that little twerp Kimmy has something to do with it. They already have the spinners, betcha Mahamood has a little "stash" ready to go!

Set Condition 3 throughout the ship. The smoking lamp is out. All gunners mates to their general quarters stations. Make preparations to darken ship.

I agree - the sanctions will be toothless. Ahmedine-nazi didn't help his own case by bailing out of coming to New York to defend his own country and its nuclear policies. He's achieved the remarkable result of getting the entire world united against him and the mullahs. Quite an accomplishment!

Can you tell me where I can go to view this information?
I have wondered why the British Captain let his men be captured. You would think that he would/could/should have started firing right away. Sounds like a Pueblo to me...

A warship flying the UN flag would not be be stocked with ammo, would not permit any side arms or long guns on deck, not have more than 4 hours of fuel.
It would never leave New York City under its own power because of the severe listing to the port side.
As a matter of fact it would probably be declared a HAZMAT area by the NY Port Authority.
