I don't think that is the case anymore. I believe all services have gone to the one generic title of Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine for everyone. I kinda like it. Do you feel it should be more separated?

After 29 years in the Army, the customs of the service are hard to set aside. The "one-size-fits-all" concept is not easy to accept. Under the heading of "good order and discipline," I still believe there are good reasons for retaining the distinctions. When "we are one in the spirit" becomes the norm, "democracy" begins to raise its ugly head...the military is not a democracy, it is a benevolent dictatorship...and it needs to be. Somebody has to be in charge, and it is never put to a vote as to who that is. (Maybe in the Air Force where there are really two services: the pilots, and everybody else)
