Tony's doctors have detected a growth of some kind. He will have surgery on Monday. They are not saying that this is or is not cancer. Please be so kind as to offer your prayers, your support for this good man.
Thank you, radioproducer! And please thank Griff for us :-)
We are praying for Tony and rooting for him. He will beat this; it's just hard for us to take it all in. We were hoping for so much better than what we'd heard.
And it's funny and a tad upsetting that even now, the man is working. Sigh. Does he not listen to his doctors (and I would bet Jill would say so too) to get some rest?!?!?!?!?!(foot tapping impatiently now)
:-) Okay, so we know him well. LOL
Thanks for checking in with us and letting us know and for the pep talk, rp!
Amen.
As much as I hate to, I have to give Skinner (DU ADMIN) credit. He warned the DU no negative remarks.
Prayers from Spokane for Tony. He is a good man we've never met in person, but feel we know over the years. We love and admire him. May God bless him with healing, and uphold his family.
Denis Boyles wrote a little story at the end of his new book "Vile France". There was a guy who was doing badly at work and Denis was trying to help him out.
Denis then found out that this guy was lobbying for Denis's job.
Outraged, Denis sought the advice of a mentor. The mentor told him "Do nothing. His life will be his punishment."
It's good advice.
I am back on track. I've been shaken, but I am back to the power of positive prayer and positive thinking.
In the spirit of getting us in an upbeat mood, I point the following item out for your attention.

Higher education, in the wrong sense
Thanks so much for the Ping.
But the High Court heard that Mrs Mayers, who was studying for a postgraduate Master of Philosophy degree at University College, London at the time, was a 'highly intelligent' woman who should have known better.
What what you expect from a philosophy major?!
[Hope Tony doesn't see this post.] 8)
I hope he's right too!
Tony, we lift you up to God. You are not alone; you are surrounded by the prayers of so many who have run the race you must now run.
Yea, though you walk throught the valley of death, fear no evil - for God is with you. And all along the valley, look to the hills from whence comes your help! Look up to see the faces of those love you, those who have run the race before you, and those who look to you for hope. We are calling to you, Tony, praying for you, hoping for you...
You are not alone.
Snowman *bump*
I was so nice to check this thread and see you posting on it.
I am sure this is hitting you very hard..since you worked with Tony.
We all are praying hard...you know we will.
Thanks for posting!! We miss you and Tony on the threads each day.
save...I was just reading through the thread and noticed that you said something about Tony working...
I didn't hear about that...what was he doing??
rp, it's so good to hear from you. The whole "family" seems to have come together to cheer on our mutual friend and you will always be a treasure member of that family.
Tony Snow Blindsided By Cancer Return, Prayers Of Nation With Him By Staff Mar 27, 2007 |
Press Secretary Tony Snow, the much respected and beloved newsman turned White House spokesperson during one of the most difficult times ever facing any administration, has unforunately received the much dreaded news that he was once again under attack from cancer. Tony Snow has worked tirelessly throughout his career, and won a reputation as a balanced, honest, straightforward and trustworthy individual that average people understood and believed. Snow has also been a mighty defender of the Bush administration during what is probably one of the nation's most difficult times in history, and has won the respect of his peers in both the media and government for his ability to balance his responses and put forward his case. Word is that when the White House staff learned of his condition, they all were in tears. Snow is now in consultations with doctors, according to reports, and plans to "pursue as aggressively as possible" this latest round of cancer. The press secretary had felt a pain in his side, and tests found a small growth on his abdomen about the size of a small fingertip. Snow announced he would be having surgery to remove it, and cheerfully said he planned to be out of the office for about 6 weeks. Snow's wife Jill, whom he credits along with his children and family with pulling through the last round of cancer, was by his side with his loving family around him, as doctors informed Snow that the cancer he had so valiantly fought off some 3 years before had returned, and had been detected in his liver. The administration is making a determination as to next steps in light of this most recent bad news for President Bush. Tony's mom died of the same Cancer he currently is suffering with. The prayers of the staff at The Post Chronicle are with Tony Snow and our President in this most difficult time. |
Oh no, she didn't attend University of Chicago, which has much higher standards. :-)
RP,
It's so good to hear from you again.
> Pray for Tony, root for him, and know he is planning to beat this!
We will, I promise.
Stay in touch.
LOL It was announced on one of the other threads that he's checking in with Dana. Can you believe the Snowman? LOL
That is a very nice report. Thanks for posting it, dinasour!
