Just saw in 7:00-7:30 segment of GMA.
Iranian navy siezed about a dozen UK sailors. Sailors were conducting routine shipping embargo inspection in northern end of Persian Gulf.
Sailors have been taken back to Iran
Can't find it anywhere else.
Imagine if they took the Prince? I can never remember his name. Iranian military installations would turn into the largest fireworks show the world will ever see if they kidnap him. Certainly bombed by the UK, Australia, Poland, as well as us. We'll certainly jump into the fray. We haven't even gotten back at them for the Embassy hostage crisis yet.
but I will admit that I don't want to think about $6/gal, even though I want Blair to show some fire and drag NATO into a confrontation with Iran.
Perhaps the Iranian government should consult with Argentina (or Italy, or Germany, or...) as to the consequences of underestimating Her Majesty's navy.
The air force is free, isn't it?
.
Thank you for the links. Fox had it headlining their page as well. Maybe this will be different then previous incidents where we looked the other way. I certainly hope it is and that the Brits and the U.S. stand up to this. I'll spot check the TV news at 6pm today and each day for a week and we'll see where the story goes.
No, I had not seen that. Thanks. I guess we'll see if he manages to get here or not. At this point, I would prefer us to forget the 'obstacle' and flat out tell him to stuff it.
This is, historically speaking, a bad move for whoever does it.
I know he is coming here...just not sure of the day...
It is amazing what kind of mischief can happen in a country when the leader is out of town...
This doesn't sound good...let's just pray that they are released SOON.
Her Majesty's navy isn't what it used to be, sadly.
This is the sort of thing that starts wars. Not good.
I have my doubts, the Iranians took the Brits because they know they can with little repercussions. It looks planned to coincide with tomorrows vote at the UN.

Piracy.
I got it from Sky News that was on Drudge.

The scary thing is that if the Navy Seals or some other branch of US Special Forces help free the UK sailors, which I sincerely hope they do, a large segment of the UK population will be thankless. They will claim it was our responsibilty in the first place because "Bush lied." It's terrible to think that about our closest ally, but unfortunately it's true. I hope the sailors are freed soon, God be with them.
That scares me. Not militarily, but that the propeller might fall off, or that they'll create an international radioactive no-go zone when they scuttle it.

He's not welcome here, although I would like to see the British Ambassador ream him a new one.
