Just saw in 7:00-7:30 segment of GMA.
Iranian navy siezed about a dozen UK sailors. Sailors were conducting routine shipping embargo inspection in northern end of Persian Gulf.
Sailors have been taken back to Iran
Can't find it anywhere else.

Naval vessels are obsolete - or so champions of cruise missiles would have us think. Time to find out if our Navy can survive an onslaught of sunburns and silkworms fired at a short distance in narrow straights or if the Iranians can survive a stealth fighter attack along their batteries on the shore.
Time too to find out how well the shore-based launchers survive overflights by Hellfire-equipped MQ-1 Predators...and MQ-9 Reapers, [which the Navy gives folding wings and a tailhook, and then refers to as Mariners] which can also carry Stingers and JDAMs.
Plus the Marine attack helicopters aboard the carriers and support ships, once the stealth aircraft *blind* the Iranian air defence radars.
The Air Force has concluded new pilot training for the F-117 and was planning to retire the Nighthawk by 2008. But perhaps not quite yet, and it may yet retire with one more combat ribbon to its credit.

1 or 2 other incidents in Africa that don't get so much press attention. I'm aware of at least three. More, if you count 14 Intel Coy/SRR activities.

The world can thank the Democrats for this. This is a direct result of the left wing destroying US credibility and making this planet unsafe for all non-muslims.
Their years of twisting history to fit their agenda has allowed Amajihadnutt to believe that the United States does not have the will to enforce UN, NATO, or even our own policies.
The left never cared that the War with Saddam was never about WMD's, it was about Saddam believing he could ignore the will and the might of the Free World and after 9/11 the Free World learned that we could not live in a world where we were not feared by our enemies.
The sacrifices of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines are all going to be in vain if we do not put a stop to the left.

You won't get any arguement from me. What gets me is that after what happened to the U.S.S. Cole, I thought ships would be a lot more careful about letting boats get close to where they are operating. Or maybe there was nothing that could've prevented this. What the heck do I know, after all. But those sailors and Marines are in our prayers.

I say we should all be tired of messing with this tyrant!!! If Bush would cut lose the Texas Cowboy he has buried somewhere deep in his soul, he would have the FBI arrest him the moment he steps onto US soil for his involvement in the hostage taking during peanut boy's term-- diplomacy and the UN be DAMNED!!!

I agree. I believe our strategty of capturing supposed Iranian Revolution 'diplomats' was part of the plan. Since they have pissed on our head for 30+ years they felt that tit for tat would be OK. It's like baiting the mouse with some funky smelling cheese.

Sadly the Vincennes was decommissioned AFIK.
Definitely would cause some chaos around here though. Apparently when they shot down that air-liner there was a thought that Iranian-linked terrorists would attack Vincennes Indiana in an act of retribution. Why they would attack this place boggles the mind though....
