I'd donate to both.

I support the best candidate, who is never going to be someone I agree with on all issues. This is an election to be WON.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have an FDR of the right.

Just sent Rudy $100. And volunteered!

I enjoyed the part about his kids. If I remember right they were 10 and 14 when he left. It was nice of him to talk so much about them on his web site. /sarcasm off

Has the NRA released its ratings of the Presidential candidates yet? (It'll be interesting to see what grade Rudy gets). I just got word that the GOA will be releasing such a list shortly. .....and it'll include both announced and rumored candidates.

"I support the best candidate, who is never going to be someone I agree with on all issues. This is an election to be WON. "

All issues aren't required, but supporting the guy who agrees with your enemy on just about every aspect of your party's own platform is not particularly constructive.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have an FDR of the right. "

Why? So we can have a socialist to call our very own?

Sorry, don't trust the man! If he was still mayor, he would be pulling the exact same crap that Bloomie is now, and we both know that, no sense in kidding around about it.

Social issues are 10% of governing. Less, arguably.

And he will defer to federalism and strict construction. (And he'll get elected and those judges confirmed more easily than a social conservative would.)

Political economy is the main issue. No one has governed as far to the right on these matters as Rudy has. Not Reagan or Bush. See George Will's quote on the front page of Rudy's site on this.

Also, nobody would prosecute the war on terror as extremely as Rudy would. The guy who kicked Arafat out of the UN 50th celebration, PRE-9-11, showing he understand these issues way back then. And returned the Saudi check.

Since when did social issues become everything? I studied political science in college, and it was about political economy and foreign affairs. That is what government is about.

"Since when did social issues become everything? I studied political science in college, and it was about political economy and foreign affairs. That is what government is about."

That would be just fine and dandy! except it was the government, OUR GOVERNMENT! that first sanctioned the murder of nearly fifty million babies! Had they not done that, we could still be only talking about economy and political affairs and the real purpose of government.

"Social issues are 10% of governing. Less, arguably. "

The United States Constitution is not a mere "social issue".

"Also, nobody would prosecute the war on terror as extremely as Rudy would. The guy who kicked Arafat out of the UN 50th celebration, PRE-9-11, showing he understand these issues way back then. And returned the Saudi check"

That's an assertion lacking ANY evidence.

His reaction to the shootings at the Empire State Building show he doesn't understand this war at all.

"Since when did social issues become everything? I studied political science in college, and it was about political economy and foreign affairs. That is what government is about."

Proper government is about protecting liberty. THAT is what it's about. By Rudy's own words, his understanding of "liberty" and "freedom" is at odds with the simple definition of those words.

The day I vote for a gun grabber like Rudy is the day the Democrats take my name from my tombstone. I've sacrificed my honor on the altar of political expediency in every election since GHWB. No more.

You give the dems a lot of trust here. They will fight a strict constructionist no matter who the person who nominates him/her is.
