He's absolutely right. Far too many kids talk like this and see nothing wrong with it. What they fail to understand is this type of behavior is nothing but a one-way ticket to permanent poverty and hopelessness. Unfortunately, only the black community can fix this problem, because anything whitey says or does about the issue will automatically be labelled 'racist'.

Cosby's influential in the black community, and it is a hopeful sign that someone of his prominence is standing up and saying what needs to be said. And he's saying it in plain English.

Hell, I have a niece who is white as milk, with red hair and Irish freckles, raised in a family so white it should be considered the Stereotypical Honky Family . . . and if you get her on the phone, you'd swear you had a ghetto queen on the other end.

The worst part is that I know she is capable of proper English; she used to speak it. This is a late-come habit, and one I despise.
