A staffer at a Web firm aiding Barack Obama admitted creating the ad parody ripping Hillary Clinton.
An Internet whiz with deep ties to Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign has been unmasked as the creator of the powerful "1984" video that skewers Hillary Rodham Clinton.......The high-tech operative, Philip de Vellis - who went by the secret nom de 'Net "Parkridge 47" - worked for the respected Democratic Internet-strategy firm Blue State Digital before getting sacked yesterday. The firm has contracts to run the Obama campaign's Web site.....such contracts typically are for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Blue State Digital said that de Vellis did no work on the Obama campaign account. "Pursuant to company policy regarding outside political work or commentary on behalf of our clients or otherwise, Mr. de Vellis has been terminated from Blue State Digital effectively immediately," the statement said.
But de Vellis - who admitted to creating the video in an article on Huffingtonpost.com after being outed by liberal blogger Arianna Huffington - was unapologetic..... He said he made the ad in his apartment on a Sunday afternoon using a Macintosh computer and software, then posted it on YouTube. It has since been viewed a stunning 1.5M times.

Fired! We need to have congressional investigations. The ACLU should step in.
Nice to see the identity of this amateur "the common man can have a huge impact on presidential advertising" average Joe unmasked.
Yep. (Don't hold your breath waiting for the acknowledgement of their mistake.)
He'd better change his identity and move to one of the 7,000 islands in the Philippines.
Arkancide knows no boundaries,timezones,or distance.
To quote Marcellus from "Pulp Fiction":
" I'm prepared to scour the the Earth for that motherf*&^#$. If Butch goes to Indochina, I want a n!@#3r waiting in a bowl of rice ready to pop a cap in his ass."
Today's (March 20) "Good Morning America" ran a segment on the ad. And guess who turned out to be the villian? At the segment's end, ABC's Claire Shipman acknowledged that "there still are no real clues about the author." But that didn't stop Shipman from spinning the story to attack Republicans:"Robin, the ultimate conspiracy theory, some Democrats think a Republican operative could be responsible because it not only makes Hillary Clinton look bad but Barack Obama look bad, since it's an attack ad."
ROBIN ROBERTS: "Something to think about."
ABC News: We speculate, you decide.
"There is no such thing as bad publicity."
This guy's career is just now taking off. Anyone who can get a message across to a million people, and influence whole news cycles, with just a few hours work will be in very high demand.
This forum is no exception. Numerous cases of posters who are liberal trying to rant like an ignorant conservative to make conservatives look bad....too many ignorant conservatives accusing people of being "trolls" if they are disagreed with.
Web people think they are so sophisticated, but in reality, nothing on the web is true yet they seem believe almost anything in great numbers. It has to be a snake oil saleesman's paradise, where with only a little work you can create a persona the people will buy into - because they want it to be that way....
I am really a sleeper plant by China trying to convince everyone that government control of the content of web should be the norm.
This firm Blue State Digital is not worth of Mr. de Vellis's talents. He probably created one of the most important and noteworthy campaign commercials since LBJ's anti-Goldwater campaign with the girl counting down the daisy petals/nuke blastoff and this is how they reward him.
The guy is a genius and should not only have received a mega raise but should have been made a partner in the firm.
There s an aroma here of Atlas Shrugged. This is how dims reward their top performers.
Nah, I think it's more a reference to the idea that activist liberals seem to gravitate toward Macs.
In other news today, the body of Philip de Vellis, was found in a landfill in Hackensack NJ. An apparent victim of suicide. "The 7 gunshots to the back are a common way for people in NJ to off themselves." said Rahm Emanual.
Hillary Clinton was seen leaving his office with a few boxes of his personal papers. She was not questioned by authorities because her purity is evident to all who gaze upon her!
Back to you Katie.
Too bad the republicans don't have anybody this creative on their staffs.
Great. That makes it even funnier. We're politicizing operating systems. My GOP operating system can beat up your Dem OS.
Macs are pretty much the norm in the various media outlets I've run across over the years. Every PR / Marketing firm my bro in law has ever worked in in his 25 years in the industry. Even in the button down environment I'm in, the corp comm folks are all Mac users, even though the other 5500 of us are not.
You have made what is perhaps the most important point on this thread.
What has happened to this country that people get fired, castigated, investigated and downright ruined because of the things they say and think?
Unless, of course, you're saying and thinking the "right" things.
Not only does the ad represent something from 1984; so does the aftermath.
"Don't think he has to worry about finding another job, do you?"
Apple should sue his butt off, unless they are Obamarama fans.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
But, but, but...didn't Hitlery claim the video was obviously made by the VRWC?
One wonders if Apple might sue the guy since Gore is on their board. Then there is the issue of intellectual property. Just wondering here.
