Richard Blankenship, a top GOP fundraiser from the Jacksonville area and former ambassador to the Bahamas, is stepping off Mitt Romney's Florida finance team, and the Buzz is he's about to hop aboard the Rudy Giuliani express.
In a letter to the Romney campaign, he called Mitt and Ann Romney "wonderful people," but said he had become "uncomfortable" supporting the campaign and that Republicans needed a candidate with broad appeal across America.
Blankenship has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Bushes, has personally given tens of thousands to the GOP efforts, and has frequently loaned his Cessna for campaign trips.

The 911 hero shares his secrets of leadership

Orlando FL, Jan. 25 __ Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani challenged nearly 2,000 ministers and Christian leaders representing every state and 20 countries on "How to Lead in Tough Times," at the three-day Global Pastors Network (GPN) "Billion Soul" Pastors' Conference, held January 25-27 at Faith Assembly Church in Orlando.
Using personal anecdotes from his experience in the aftermath of 9-11, Mayor Giuliani outlined six principles for effective leadership, the most important of which is "to have strong beliefs - knowing what you stand for and the principles important to you."
The two beliefs that got him through the 9-11 crisis, he said, were his belief in God, and the belief that people who live in freedom have more strength than those who live under oppression. "That is the story of the Old Testament," he said. "Strong beliefs guide countries - and churches."
Next, Giuliani said, a strong leader should be an optimist, because people follow hopes, dreams and solutions to problems. "Isn't that what the early church offered - optimism and the beautiful idea of salvation?" he asked rhetorically.
Giuliani's third principle required of a leader is courage, citing several examples of the heroic efforts of New York police and fire fighters. "As a Christian, you have more from which to draw," he said. "I know many of the men who died on 9-11 came from religious homes where they were taught there is no greater principle than to lay down your life for another."
The fourth trait a good leader needs is to have tremendous preparation, followed by an emphasis on teamwork.
Finally, Mayor Giuliani stressed, no leader should think he or she knows everything.
When told that this group of pastors and Christian leaders and their constituencies would be praying for him, Mayor Giuliani said, "I appreciate you. I can't tell you from my heart how much I appreciate what you are doing - saving people, telling them about Jesus Christ and bringing them to God. You are doing me a great favor."
GIULIANI WAS ASKED if he intends to run for president.
He smiled and replied, "Only God knows. At this point it is too early to tell. I'll know better in a year whether I can fully commit to that process."
Speaking of the unique conference's visionary goals, Dr. James O. Davis, cofounder and CEO of GPN, said, "These are definitely tough times in which we minister as a church, and Mayor Giuliani's comments affirm leadership principles that can help us accomplish our mission to win one billion souls for Christ.
"If Christians are going to be effective in the 21st Century, then we will have to cross the chasm of communication and reconnect with our changing culture."
The "Billion Soul" Pastors' Conference had an impressive line-up of top visionary Christian and business leaders including S. Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A; success expert Peter Lowe; Al Weiss, president of worldwide operations for Disney; and evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.

So why don't you start your own website to swap stories about how you're driving all the conservatives out of the Republican Party?
Perfect guy for a mayor of a big liberal city. Clean out the bums and get the buses running on time.
He was a former Ambassador to the Bahamas..That explains it..Mitt made him quit, because he might be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby..
