The 2007 version of Rudy Giuliani defends his past support of gun control as a necessary evil to fight crime in a big city.
When pressed recently about his views on the 2nd Amendment by Sean Hannity of Fox News, Giuliani attempted to tap dance around his gun-control record without alienating the 290 million Americans who dont live in New York City. The former mayor told Hannity that gun control was appropriate for the city, but that states and cities should be allowed to make those decisions locally.
So, Hannity continued, you would support a states rights to choose on specific gun laws?

Ain't that the truth : )
I spammed it this morning so that Freepers can download it and put it away, just in case the match up indeed comes down to "The King (Kong) of NY vs. Hitlary (Godzilla)".
Then I would hope it would go all over the web - humor is the most devastating form of critique, and I think that little montage - should that matchup materialize - will be popular. Simple but to the point.
How is Matt doing? He signed both of his books for me, and we used to e mail back and forth. I lost his e mail. The last time I talked to him, he was moving his family to Florida. I hope he is doing well.

Book 3 is coming along. He's got the first 60 pages into print ..... as of last week.
Him and his son are driving through some of the Southern states this week so he can get a better picture about local scenery and attitudes. Writers research is what one would call it, I suppose.

"eviscerate the constitution (what's left of it)."
What do you think'll happen if Hitlery becomes President? Losing the Second Amendment will be the least of our worries.
I'm no fan of Rudy's opinion on guns and crime, but given the choice between a messed-up Republican and a wannabe-dictator democRAT...well, I'm willing to look the other way on a few things.
And at least Rudy realizes we're at war and won't be messing with our military. Hitlery, who probably isn't as concerned about public opinion as her husband, will eviscerate our military and make it so the islamofascists can just waltz right in.
I've said many times that if Rudy gets the nomination, I will vote for him. But I think our basic disagreement is that you seem to believe (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that only Rudy can beat whomever the Dems choose as their nominee, while I believe that we can beat the Dems in '08 with a good, solid conservative. At the very least, I think we should try.
