Rudy's Gun-Control Agenda
Human Events ^ | 3/20/07 | John Velleco

The 2007 version of Rudy Giuliani defends his past support of gun control as a necessary evil to fight crime in a big city.

When pressed recently about his views on the 2nd Amendment by Sean Hannity of Fox News, Giuliani attempted to tap dance around his gun-control record without alienating the 290 million Americans who don’t live in New York City. The former mayor told Hannity that gun control was “appropriate” for the city, but that states and cities should be allowed to make those decisions locally.

“So,” Hannity continued, “you would support a state’s rights to choose on specific gun laws?”

In the midst of the fight over the 1994 crime bill and semi-auto gun ban, Giuliani escorted President Clinton to Minnesota to stump for the bill.

Rudy - the best friend in the GOP for gun-grabbing Dems.

But but but- he's the only one who can beat Hillary!!!

I'm beginning to understand why Malcom X said he trusted Goldwater more than Johnson; he stated that at least the former was out front about what he wanted to do to you, the former was a liar through and through.

I mean I CAN understand why the idea of high capacity semi auto firearms are not popular in high density places like New York or San Francisco; AR-15's and apartment buildings probably do not make a good mix, but rights are rights.

Even, cough, gag, spit, McCain hadn't swiped guns from law-abiding citizens. He told them to shut up, but he hadn't made criminals out of legal gun-owners.

Now - I go wash my mouth....

In other words, gun control is only justifiable when it comes to people in the inner-city.

In other words, blacks.

Oh, the Democrats are gonna have a field day with this guy.

If the bitch were to be elected I may have to do something about which I can't even allow myself to think.

Please drop the offensive term "bitch" in referring to the Witch. You're insulting all female dogs, the vast majority of whom are infinitely better people than the Witch. Indeed, calling the Witch a rattlesnake would insult rattlesnakes.

St Rudy's 'Big City Gun Sensible Control' thinking is 100% in line with that of Mayor Richie Daley (DEM) of Chicago.

They're two peas in a pod as Daley has also sued Gun Manufacturers and has also ruled by fiat that residents of Chicago's Public Housing (all Blacks) have zero rights to own or possess any firearm, of any type - period. No rifles, no shotguns no nothing (all handguns are basically 'illegal' in Chi. anyway).

In Daley's mind Blacks who live in 'his' Public Housing have no right to go out 'to the country' and go Duck, Goose, Elk or Deer hunting (forget for self defense). They're in 'the projects' and they better stay there dammit -- and like it!

This is the same exact mindset of St Rudy with guns and big cities. Maybe St Rudy would tap 'King Richie' as a running mate since they're so alike.

(Daley made this 'No Long Gun' ruling after a Black gang banger used an abandoned apartment as a Sniper perch and Killed a little girl (also Black) a couple blocks away who was walking to school.)

Actually, the 223 round fired by an AR-15 is far less likely to be lethal after it passes through an ordinary wall than is any type of common handgun bullet.

They are designed to break apart on the first thing they hit.

True, I should have used the 7.62 from an AK. But my point (as an ardent 2nd amendment supporter) is that I really can understand how someone in a crowded city might not 'get' what seems very obvious to us firearms enthusiasts. People I know in San Francisco just do not understand why I want a .50 Barrett; explanation and outreach is better than vilification. Just my .02

Yes, McCain doesn't have a very good record on gun rights. Even Romney has a tarnished record, but nobody short of Sara Brady is worse than Rooty.

Bring your translator to the test. English soon won't be the primary language.
