Muslims offer to help 'John Does' sued by imams[U.S. Airways Passengers]
The Washington Times ^ | 21 March 2007 | Audrey Hudson

Lawyers and a Muslim group say they will defend at no cost airline passengers caught up in a lawsuit between a group of imams and U.S. Airways if the passengers are named as "John Does" and sued for reporting suspicious behavior that got the Muslim clerics booted from a November flight.

The six imams are suing the airline, Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Airports Commission, and the unnamed "John Does" to be named later, for discrimination, saying they were removed from the flight for praying in the airport.

Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix-area physician and director of American Islamic Forum for Democracy -- a group founded in 2003 to promote moderate Muslim ideas through its Web site (www.aifdemocracy.org) -- told The Washington Times his group will raise money for legal fees for passengers if they are sued by the imams.

"It's so important that America know there are Muslims who understand who the victims are in air travel," said Dr. Jasser. "But I hope it doesn't get to that point because the backlash will be even greater when Americans see Islamists trying to punish innocent passengers reporting fears."

The lawsuit specifically cites two passengers who stared at the men as they prayed, then made a cell phone call that the imams say went to U.S. Airways to complain about the prayer.

Praying? These so-called "imams" were overheard loudly praising Osama bin Laden, they were making nasty comments about the United States and our military, etc. and then they wonder why they were singled out for "special" treatment?

I'm not going to be using that airport again for a while. That's for sure.

I believe Mewzilla hit the nail on the head. They went shopping in a place where they knew they would get what they want.

Yep - it could be just a publicity ploy, but I can hope.

That's interesting. I'd only heard that the imans intended to sue, not that Muslims would help the passengers.

Agreed, but 5 years in coming is more than a little behind the curve.

So we've asked for something like this for 5 years.

Granted, it's way overdue. But here it is now.

What do you want us to do? Say, "Sorry. You're too late."?

Let's wait and see how it turns out, and give them a chance to prove themselves here.

Dr. Jasser is one of the good guys. If you consider for a moment the personal risk he is taking by having the website, by appearing regularly on TV to show the Americans who happen to be Muslim side, and the time and effort he has put into this work, I'd say he's giving far more than just money to the fight against jihad.

If you visit the website, you will probably be as surprised and heartened as I was, and he really needs the help in getting his message out.

"I hope no one is stupid enough to take them up on the offer."

What do you mean by that?
This is Dr. Jasser's group offering to help. If you're unfamiliar with him, please research his articles posted on FR under keyword Jasser.

You ought to do a little research on Dr. Jasser before making derogatory statements about him.
For years he has been doing exactly what you and others have said muslims should be doing - he condemns CAIR and the wahhabis and other extreme muslim groups, he's a staunch supporter of the military (he's ex-Navy), he's pro war on terrorism, and he's trying to rally more moderate muslims to speak out against radical muslims.

None of the local (MN) news outlets are currently covering this new development.

Surprised? ME?

"You ought to do a little research on Dr. Jasser before making derogatory statements about him. "

Wasn't attacking him specifically. I have seen little to no action from 'peaceful' muslims to condemn the radical muslims. I firmly believe this is a continuation of the war thats been taking place since the Jews and Christian denied Muhammed prophet status about 700 AD.

In some respects muslims like Dr. Jasser are more dangerous as they lead the West into complacency while his brethren in Islam seek to destroy every single non-believer.

Screw you and him too...
It's not my problem that he adheres to a violent bloodcult bent on global domination. This is a new perception for me. I was forced to come to the conclusion that these people are deadly. And worse they are liars.

It wouldnt surprise me a bit that this wasnt some kind of goodcop badcop these idiots are playing. Putting these people through a gauntlet to indimidate the other passengers into silence. Im for shoving all of em off the cliff.
