The old joke just has to be told.

Did you know Pat lost a family member in the Holocaust?

The man fell out of his guard tower.

But now, "Congress, right or wrong". I wish I could agree with you, but our so-called Congress is so perverted and distorted. What else do they now care about except getting themselves reelected? They regularly leak national security secrets against the country's best interests. Let the cards fall where they will?

On the WOT, I trust Congress far less than I trust White House, for now.

The CONSTITUTION right or wrong. I'll side with Madison, Washington and Franklin any day, sir.

stunned...

Yep, me, too.

This guy is so consistently anti-Jewish, one wonders if there are any Jews that he accepts??

I wonder if Madison, Washington and Franklin foresaw how perverse our government would become. Maybe they did, but I'll bet they didn't comprehend the power of WMD as it is now.

IIRC Jefferson or one of the founders thought we would fall if we did not remain an agrarian society. Well how would a bunch of farmers not get run over in this techno war world?

Waiting until the enemy strikes to respond will require a lot of sacrifice.

I'm more concerned about our fall from within than our willingness to hammer an enemy before he kills millions of us.

I've never heard the term "bully-ragged" before,

Mark Twain uses it quite effectively in Huckleberry Finn.

If they’ve had the decency to roll over and die, he’ll forgive if not accept.

Haven't ever read it, although my 4th grade teacher read it to us 30 years ago. A classic. Sheesh, another book I have to add to my all-too-long reading list.

A, I guess you missed it... Congress already voted...

Pelosi was trying to take back that vote.

Big difference.

When congress declared war during WWII, they didn't declare war individually on each country as the war progressed. It was all part of the same war.

War has already been declared in this war and it is all part of the same war.

Bush is already constitutionally authorized by congress to execute this war.

So go blow your lies somewhere else.

Correction 40 years ago. I forget how old I am sometimes. Must be an "old" thing.

Not that I really care, but I wonder what gave Pat such a hard-on for the Jews.

"But all the other boys get to have Bar Mitzvahs! Why can't I?"

"We're not Jewish, dear."

Well you're in for a very great treat indeed. Many, and I count myself among them, regard Huckleberry Finn to be the Great American novel: subtle, moving, and a work that improves and becomes richer with each rereading. It is fit for eight-year-olds and 80-year-olds. It is perhaps the first balanced treatment of America's original sin, slavery but the work is so well done that the reader is carried along, as with the current of the Mississippi, without realizing the author's destination..

To read and understand Huckleberry Finn is to be exposed to the essence of the American character as it grapples with its greatest challenge.

Unless I've missed something -- NO ONE has discussed DECLARING WAR..
Once again -- Leftists, suicidal pacifists, cowards and other assorted anti-America survival groups are making a point with no spear.

We have not "Declared War" since our entry into WWII...
We have since fought in Korea, Vietnam, Africa, South America, Serbia/Bosnia/Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc, etc....without a formal Declaration of War.

President Bush doesn't have to declare war to order a defensive preemptive strike against ANY presumed threat, including Iran, Syria or whomever.

Given the ignorant, corrupt, self serving, special interest, racial focused and fossilized bastards we have in our current Congress -- the Republic would be overrun and destroyed before a consensus for WAR could be achieved.

Look at how well our Congress has responded to the invasion of relatively "peaceful" illegal immigrants....

Our Founders never imagined that people who have the right to vote in this Republic by virtue of Amendments that came long after their death - would be so inclusive of illiterate, unproductive, welfare dependent and uninformed imbeciles....

If the lunatic left Democrats wish to STOP THE WAR, they have the Congressional power to END THE FUNDING of the War...
They have neither the courage or support of the people to make that suicidal step ---- so they will simply bitch about things and refuse to TAKE ACTION ON A SOLUTION.

I don't think Pat has a thing for the Jews/Israelis in particular. My theory is that Pat pretty much hates everybody. He is a protectionist and a nationalist and anybody who has an interest outside the U.S. borders is persona non grata to him. He he considers any help to our allies a waste of time or an act of treason. Considering that we have only one fuctioning democracy in the Middle East and the Middle East is the center of the W.O.T. then backing up Israel is pretty much IN our national interest. But Pat doesn't want us to bomb the nuke plants in Iran either. He would rather just build a bigger, higher fence and stop everybody but British tourists from getting into or out of the country.

Nancy Pelosi leads the party who is the most anti-Israeli so the idea that somehow she is going to give up the Congressional power to declare was just to please AIPAC is laughably naive. Her own party leaders like Murtha, Moran, Obey, Dingell and the Black Caucus would be revolting against her first - not the so-called 'Blue Dogs' (ie, 6 blue ones and 20 lavender ones).

Not that I think the Constitution is "alive" anymore but you sure do rationalize it away. Have you ever thought that if this country had stuck with the Constitution things would not be as bad as they are now?
