Hopefully a competent Republican will replace Blanco, then the State of Louisiana can at least respond competently to hurricanes, like Florida has several times.

Certainly, crisis makes or breaks politicians -- truly tests their mettle. Blanco is sure enough no Giulianni.

Yeah, Jindal should've had that job. Blankstare is worthless. Not many competent Repubs to choose from in LA...

I don't believe there are enough third-worlders left in New Orleans to reelect the air-head from Louisiana. Somebody familiar with the state may correct me, but I believe without the extra votes to turn out the Oprah crowd, she won't be able to overcome Republican votes from elsewhere.

What a pair - Blanco and Nagin.

By the way, that is not a photo shop of Ray "Chocolate" Nagin above.

He really did don a US General's uniform and cigar and mocked Lt Gen Russ Honore - the man who saved his a$$ in the aftermath of Katrina.

She has to be the most imcompetent governor ever in the history of America. Many people are worst off because of her bad decisions.

Bobby Jindal is very popular here in South East LA. He will do a fine job straightening out LA. He was endorsed by none other then Ray Nagin when he ran, and Nagin is a Democrat. Remember the name Bobby Jindal, he is a rising star in the GOP but not too many seem to know it yet.

Bobby Jindal is running on the R ticket. Let's hope the fraud doesn't prevent him from winning this time.

Blanco choosing not to run will open up the jungle primary a bit more I'd guess. The real question is does Breaux enter the mix?

Other articles if anyone is interested in reading the comments, etc.

Some people are dead because of her bad decisions.

Breaux, despite his D after his name is not bad and will keep a lot of the conservative Ds that would vote for Jindal in the D camp. I actually like Breaux, but would vote for Jindal if I were to return to New Orleans.

If he can overcome his residency and voter registration issues he will be a formidable opponent for Jindal. Otherwise I think Jindal wins going away.
