I always liked John Breaux. He was a very conservative Democrat, and I always voted for him. Probably the only Democrat I ever supported. As governor, I think he would probably do okay.
But I also believe that Breaux may no longer be relevant, in respect to our current state of crisis. Meanwhile, Bobby's been in there, up to his elbows, doing what's necessary and giving 110%. He's just the most remarkable politician I've ever had the honor of voting for. And not just because it's Louisiana - I wish you all could have someone like him working for you in Congress!

I'm sure it's so the Dems can run a candidate with a chance of winning. It's the standard tactic Well good for them. Learn from you opponents. The goal is team wins, not individuals ones. A badly damaged incumbent should be encouraged to step aside rather than being given free reign to run and lose.
Would that the GOP had as good party discipline.
