Anger Anger Hatred.
Not just Muslim anymore.
All hail to the Anti-Westerner

Wow. I'm speachless. Read in context, his remark is actually very good. The way in which the Herald misrepresents it leaves me breathless. This is not the Herald I remember when I was living in Boston. A more brazen attempt at sliming a candidate by a supposedly reputable paper I have never seen.
Thanks for posting.

Ana Navarro, a Miami-based former United Nations Ambassador who was at the event, called the quote a mistake by an empty suit. ROFLMAO....

I don't care about Romney one way or the other right now but the guy was reaching out to them. Yes, a failed attempt at pandering. If you want a candidate who will try to pander to everybody, Mitt's your man!

The herald has done nothing but bash Mitt for the past two years Pretty much everyone in Massachusetts is sick of the phony Mitt Romney act. I've been following his political self-promotion performance very closely since his '94 campaign, and it is just disgusting at this point.

To learn that a Massachusetts Mormon doesn't understand Spanish, isn't up to date on Castro's lines over the past 50 years and hasn't seen the movie Scarface just doesn't strike me as being stupid. Mitt was just trying to parrot the speech that was written for him. Of course he showed that he DIDN'T understand or know anything about the "passionate" speech he attempted to deliver or the people he was talking to.
As Ana said: EMPTY SUIT.

What happens when Castro dies? Will the GOP lose Florida forever? Hopefully the Palm Beach geezers will die faster than Cubans have babies.

And the Puritans tried to live communism too. Does it mean we are all communists?

Yeah, and Mitt was pandering to get the Catholic vote by campaigning to restore the death penalty in Massachusetts.
Ahhh...wait a second...Catholics are anti-death penalty!?
Also, all those vetoes as Governor were to get votes and to pander? Right? NOT!
Cutting 600+ state jobs in Massachusetts was to pander to the Libs in Massachusetts?
Slashing the Homeless fund by 80% or 60 million was to pander, right?
Actually, I see a lot of Reagan in him. The Libs hate him and the establishment Republicans want to take him down.
JohnnyZ, if you have been following him from way out in California since 1994, it sounds like you need to do something else more productive. Go work on your Israeli and American relations, you SocialCon! LOL!
To: nowandlater
Yeah, and Mitt was pandering to get the Catholic vote by .... by promising to exempt Catholic Charities from pro-gay regulations so they could stay in the adoption business. Until he changed his mind and said he couldn't do anything.
.... by promising to exempt Catholic hospitals from regulations mandating distribution of "emergency contraception" (regulations that he supported before he opposed). Then he was criticized for his stance, chickened out, and went back on his promise a few days later.

The Boston Herald has been obsessed with undermining Mitt Romney for some while now.
I think that the paper is being kept running by publisher Pat Purcell solely for that purpose.
They're losing money about as fast as the other rag in this town.

Poor Mitt! He has some lousy aides doing his research for him.
He should hire some intelligent FReepers.

'The Herald is the conservative paper."
For the most part, but often they come up with peculiar editorials, and lead stories such as this one here which is both.

What is wrong with Christian communalism? It's the way the Church operated for the first couple of centuries...and very successfully.

Please back up your assertion with some actual cases where it really worked. The Mormons failed because of free enterprise and the second generation of children got no shares in the Order. First born and all that stuff. They never planned far enough ahead. It was great for all the lazy in the first generation as they were treated as equals. Quickly it became evident to the more industrious members that the United Order was not fair. Believe me, now after 120 years the folks of Orderville (where I live) are still talking about it.
My reasoning for bringing this up as an irony is that good ol' Mitt was brought up with a full and complete understanding of this form of communal living.
Christian communalism? Lets hear more.
