Thus, Civil War ping list notification. In the 1960s, famously, at some point the construction workers went and beat the crap out of the the anti-war protesters when they were doing this type of thing.
I have a fond memory of the Oakland Hell's Angels wailing on one such crowd marching on the Oakland Army induction center a week or so before Halloween in '65. I'd made pals with some of the Angels that summer, and was trying to make up my mind whether to join the club or go into the Army. In May of '66, I made up my mind and enlisted, with the blessing and best wishes of my pals.
It's probably time again. These little brats need to have their asses kicked.
Nah, most are just sheep-people cannon fodder, though some of their leadership needs to go away.
Sadly, one can only imagine the full force of the communist controlled government here in Portland, coming down like a ton of bricks on anyone who interfered with these spoiled brats and their "rights".
They had one like that in Seattle half a decade ago, and he's no longer with us. The FedGov STILL hasn't managed to frame anybody for that one yet.

"If I know of one of these burnings, I believe I'll attend with a big gulp....filled with the finest SHell has to offer...."
Bad Idea. Gasoline disolves the plastic cups very rapidly. I think a CO2 fire extinguisher would be better; the burns from the cold CO2 would be merely incidental to preventing the fire from spreading...

You're right.
Maybe the protein based foamite that the crash crews use would be a better extinguisher.
My gawd, that stuff smells!

Sounds good to me, even if it stinks.... Seems to me the stuff stings in cuts, too. That would be good, wouldn't it?

I'd made pals with some of the Angels that summer, and was trying to make up my mind whether to join the club or go into the Army. In May of '66, I made up my mind and enlisted, with the blessing and best wishes of my pals. Supposedly the original Hells Angels were ex-Army and ex-AirForce guys who came back from WW2 having seen a little too much death and wanting to enjoy life a little. The logo was supposedly one that an early member copped from the logo on his bomber (as in B29). I think the original chapter was San Bernadino.
They were not primarily a criminal organization in those days. Hunter S. Thompson's first book "Hell Angels" really captures the early sixties - just before the hippy thing happened pretty well. I'm a big fan of HST (despite him being a lefty) but haven't read that book for 20 years, may be time for a re-read.
It strikes me as possible if you were hanging out with the Oakland HA you may have run into him. That's the same bunch he hung with, and approximately the same period.
He too demurred on joining, got a light 'beat-down' to exit him from his association and bought a BSA Gold Star.

Others have praised your post, but it really is outstanding. It's a damn shame that so many English departments frown on teaching much Kipling today-a lot of the kiddies would benefit greatly from exposure to him (Gods of the Copybook Heading in particular).

This will be useful when the internal enemies of America, such as Sheehan, express their platitudes of duplicity such as "We support the troops."
It gets to their core of hatred and obscene voyeurism - the latter in the delight in seeing, and even photographing like inbred hyenas, the vilification of the very nation which has given their worthless hides sustenance and protection.
These people cannot but hate themselves. And that is a huge part of their problems.

It sure doesn't look like they found many people to participate in their little event, which had to disappoint the whackos to no end. I would have expected a much larger crowd in Portland and I am sure that the participants did, too.

Hate speech. . .proudly brought to us by those who claim a 'patriotism'; but who in reality have never known and would never recognize an altruistic thought; if it hit them square on. . .
The Left is proud of it's hate; proud of all that is 'dispicable'- by the kindest assesment. They truly live in a different realm; a lower world of consciousness by all appearances. Their ignorance of 'self-deception' permits them to be proud of themselves. . .
. . .and when these people so clearly exhibit their inspiration; we no longer need to wonder, what it is, that animates them.

Would you happen to know who they are? They are likely not from Portland, or even Maine. If they could be identified, someone would hunt them down. They know this.

No....I don't know the sort of people who would do something like this. And i don't take the local rag so have no idea - but there are plenty of traitors here who show up to march - they shut down the streets. Very DISGUSTING.

Arriving home at Travis, there were hippies and protesters at the fences. We were surrounded by MPs and APs and warned not to thump their heads. That took restraint!

Good golly. Why isn't our intelligence following these traitors around? They are an in-house Al Qaeda.
They can have their "freedom of (hate) speech" but there could be other consequences.

You know, those who manufacture our flags ought to make them out of a material that, when set on fire, sets off a harmless, but incredibly smelly, stink-bomb, in-the-gut-make-you-vomit-nauseating odor that is so incredibly horrible, they and their protests will become a thing of the past.

. . .but they would NEVER spit. . .
Do think it time to consider giving Libs some land. . .a couple of states perhaps. . .Cauli-fornia. . .for starters. . .Oregon would work. . .maybe Washington state. . .and they just could keep Vermont. . .and/or New Hampshire. . .(Might be easier to keep them in same geographic location however; so maybe they would have to give up north east. . .and just all 'head west'. . .)
