If you are so incapable as a human being that you think a government smoking ban is a good thing because it helps you quit then you are such a nanny-stater that I am baffled as to why you are here.

Why are we here? Because you haven't figured out a way to get Rudy supporters banned.
I wish I hadn't posted that I am happy about my state's smoking laws, because what makes me happy is none of your business.

It takes patience, determination, and guts to quit smoking. And visions of being tethered to an oxygen bottle.

And visions of being tethered to an oxygen bottle Believe it or not, I had visions of the tank many years before I actually quit.

Public licensing [of private property] have nothing to do with the Communist Manifesto at all. The first plank of the Communist Manifesto called for the abolition of private property.
Wake up.

All smokers want to quit, they just don't all admit it.What?
A more accurate statement is that all non-smokers and former smokers want current smokers to quit, they just won't admit it.

This is the first St Patrick's Day that my friends and I were able to go out to the bars, watch the game clearly, wear what we wanted without dry cleaning and not have to shower the smoke stench off of us before we went to bed.The smoking bans are a backdoor effort to make the bars go away.
Give us another report a couple of years hence.
To: EnquiringMind
I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about other smokers.The feeling is mutual.

It takes patience, determination, and guts to quit smoking. But that is not something you can relate to.BS. I quit smoking about 15 years ago. I used nicotine gum and it took NO patience and NO guts. Just the desire to do it.
You have the nerve to call me a weakling? That is BS.
You said "I am thankful that my state passed strict smoking laws, it helped me quit." Those are certainly the words of a weakling. I worked with people who smoked and that had no effect on me whatsoever. When I resumed smoking it was because I wanted to and I have never entertained the notion of quitting again. If I wanted to I would just do it regardless of whether others around me smoked. I don't want to as I enjoy it without guilt or regret.

OK, allow me to re-phrase this: All smokers with half a brain want to quit. There.OK, allow me to rephrase this: All citizens with half a brain want the government to butt out.
To: EnquiringMind
Have YOU ever tried to quit smoking eating Twinkies, or were you smart enough to never start? There, all fixed.
To: EnquiringMind
I am thankful that my state passed strict smoking lawsI would be thankful if the sorry bastards had just raised your taxes to equal the amount of money generated by cigarette sales/taxes and left everyone else alone.
To: EnquiringMind
Can't be playing with a full deck AND smoke drive. There, all fixed.
