Believe it or not, among those who met him, so was Bill Clinton (How else do you think he got away with so much?--it wasn't all arkanside).

So he is a popular guy, a fighter, a guy who will get things done.

One little problem. He combines all that with an historical stance on seminal issues which many Conservatives find incompatible with their fundamental culture and religion.

It woul be the equivalent of signing a crackerjack basketball center who is going to play for the other team. Forget it.
