this is going to leave a mark. Pretty creative. But Howard Wolfson is going to unleash the Guns of Navarone on Obama in response.
That's a good video. Excellent political ad.

I wonder how Apple will like their intellectual property AND logo being appropriated (without permission?) by the Obama campaign?
It's democrats. Therefore it really should be:
"Think Different-Lie"
You said -- "I wonder how Apple will like their intellectual property AND logo being appropriated (without permission?) by the Obama campaign?"
Well, first of all the Obama campaign says that they had nothing to do with it. And that's probably true, because they wouldn't be stupid enough to grab a commercial like that. It's way too famous of a commercial.
And so, it was probably some enthusiastic supporter of Obama's campaign that did it. But, it doesn't matter, because it gets the same publicity. So, it's good for them.
And then, secondly, that logo can't in any way be mistaken for Apple's logo (back then). It's way too different. At least, it's really apparent to me that it's not Apple's logo -- but -- that it was a "mimic" of some aspects of it.
In any case, the deal about the logo is mute because Apple has no one to go after in any case. The most that they would do is ask that it be taken down from YouTube, which will be done. But, it'll go back up somewhere else and somewhere else again. I've already got my copy on my iPod, so it's there to stay...

You asked -- "Does Obama have plausible denial on this Youtube Orwellian piece?"
Yeah..., they said they didn't do it...

Too bad nobody bothered to think how descriptive they are of the ENTIRE Democrat Party!!!
That's the thing about the Internet and with YouTube. You can get all the "action" you want, simply by having someone not connected with the campaign do something like that. That's all the "plausible deniability" you need.
And also, that's exactly why "ole Hillary" will be working overtime (if she gets in there) to shut down places like the Drudge Report, YouTube and Free Republic. To her, if she can't control it -- it's a "danger"...

Star Traveler
P.S. -- That's also why that Apple Commercial is so appropriate to her and I'm sure the Obama campaign knows that it strikes a chord with a lot of "knowing" people...
You said -- "Too bad nobody bothered to think how descriptive they are of the ENTIRE Democrat Party!!!"
Well, if you're referring to the ad, well..., you see -- that wouldn't work for the Obama campaign. He couldn't do that. It would just point the finger back at him. But, the way they did it, it's *so appropriate* of Hillary. It fits her like a glove -- and they know it...

A couple of tidbits about the original. After audioning lots of actresses for the girls part, Apple ended up hiring this woman from a fitness gym.
I had a great vhs video that was the 'Making of the 1984 commercial' that was distributed by Apple internally and to dealers. They had a production of it, with the music, "Somebodys watching me" by Rockwell.
Would be interesting to hear it over the Hillary video
Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell
Who's watching
Tell me who's watching
Who's watching me
I'm just an average man with an average life
I work from 9 to 5, hey hell, I pay the price
All I want is to be left alone, in my average home
But why do I always feel
Like I'm in the Twilight Zone? and...
I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy, whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me, is it just a dream
When I come home at night
I bang the door real tight
People call me on the phone I'm trying to avoid
Or can the people on TV see me, or am I just paranoid?
When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to wash my hair
Cause I might open my eyes and find someone standing there!
People say I'm crazy, just a little touch
But maybe showers remind me of "Psycho" too much
That's why...
I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy, whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me?
Who's watching me
I don't know anymore!
Are the neighbours watching me?
Who's watching
Well is the mailman watching me?
Tell me who's watching
And I don't feel safe anymore, oh what a mess
I wonder who's watching me now
Who?
The IRS?!
I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy, whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me is it just a dream
I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy, whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me?
Who's watching me?
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Oooh, whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me, can it be?
Who's watching me?
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Whoa-oa-oa
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me?
Who's watching me?
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Can I have my privacy
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me?
Yep, that'll be how Hillary is, all right...
I know that some have complained about Bush and how the "state" has turned more repressive. However, we're fighting a war and certain things are necessary.
But, with Hillary, things will turn absolutely "Orwellian"...

FOX News just played it and had some Dem hack on there trying to say the Republican party did the ad.

Ping.
At least he LOOKS presidential!
Have you watched it yet? Saw it over on Drudge. Enjoyed it. I agree with folks on this thread who think the "common good" quote should have been used.
The change I would have made was instead of using the blonde lady to throw the sledge hammer, I would have used Monica Lewinsky.
