I wonder how Apple will like their intellectual property AND logo being appropriated (without permission?) by the Obama campaign?
You said -- "I wonder how Apple will like their intellectual property AND logo being appropriated (without permission?) by the Obama campaign?"
Well, first of all the Obama campaign says that they had nothing to do with it. And that's probably true, because they wouldn't be stupid enough to grab a commercial like that. It's way too famous of a commercial.
And so, it was probably some enthusiastic supporter of Obama's campaign that did it. But, it doesn't matter, because it gets the same publicity. So, it's good for them.
And then, secondly, that logo can't in any way be mistaken for Apple's logo (back then). It's way too different. At least, it's really apparent to me that it's not Apple's logo -- but -- that it was a "mimic" of some aspects of it.
In any case, the deal about the logo is mute because Apple has no one to go after in any case. The most that they would do is ask that it be taken down from YouTube, which will be done. But, it'll go back up somewhere else and somewhere else again. I've already got my copy on my iPod, so it's there to stay...
