This is another point that Rush mentions often; that there are two types of Republicans, and one type doesn't care for the other.
There are the 'Country Club Republicans' for whom confrontation is distasteful, who really don't mind being in the minority, if it guarantees their jobs. He mentions Bob Michal as that type, the former House Republican leader who kept us in the minority for decades, never arguing with the Democrats as they enacted one social program after another, and thought that people like Gingrich and Delay were 'country-bumpkins' who didn't know their ass from a hat rack. These types were even against Reagan, and were responsible for Ford's primary victories before he lost to Carter.
The other type, defined by Reagan, were 'In-Your-Face' Conservatives, who called it as it was. Reagan declared the Soviet Union to be an Evil-Empire, and the other type of Republicans had to run for diapers, so afraid that Reagan was starting WWIII.
We believed that Dubya was a Reagan type, when in fact, he and his father are the Michal type. I have been long in coming to this conclusion, but it is undeniable.

Good comments, I agree.
The first candidate who seriously says he will do these things will have more support from independents and Republicans, no matter who it is as long as the claim is credible.
People forget, the Contract With America was no more than the common complaints many had prior to the 1994 election. The fact of our promise to address these issues helped us win. Promises Made, Promises Kept.

Thanks for your commentary on Delay on MTP. I will watch it in rerun tonight just to see DeLay laugh. I really miss him, and so does our Congress!

PERFECT description of Friday's hearing.
I also think this was a democrat party attempt to pay the Wilson's back for all of their help bashing the Bush Admin.
This hearing will be used in their civil suit probably...since I haven't seen/heard any outcry about all of the lies told...both by the Congresscritters and Plame.

Valerie was a GS-14 so she was his meal ticket. Much better than a Rolex. Yep, and according to her, she even worked on 'secret stuff'.

Agreed! I try to at least read it every week even if I don't comment.

I like you prefer to work with men rather than women I can take the "men talk" better than the women bitching especially as about 95 per cent of the time it is not aimed at me but just women in general. Having said that some men would blush at some of the "women talk".
If it was then I would probably say something if I was referred to as babe, love, dear etc etc especially if in a condescending way.
Currently I work for a women and that can be like treading on egg shells she is an ex teacher and often treats you as if you about 10 years old. I find her more critical and less likely to accept that mistakes happen, it alway question you are wrong and accuses before letting you get the file out and check and often when you do it was not you that was wrong.
Prime example yesterday we delivered an order twice. Immediately it was my fault for not being better organised when I pulled the files our agent had sent the order through twice 10 days apart. If it had been a day or so then yes my fault should have checked and remembered similar order from same customer but 10 days often customers re-order the same items in this timescale. All she said when I pointed this out was "good tell the agent it was his fault" no apology for accusing me of making the mistake.
Give me a male boss anytime, they may sometimes be chaulvalnistic but at least in my experience they normally do not immediately accuse you of being in the wrong immediately and feel that they have to come over heavy to show their authority over you. The crazy thing is my boss need not do this she is a director and married to the company owner yet still she still does it.

U are safe. No way to prove but wait until tomorrow's show. I bet he leads with this and will be giggling at people like you.
Personally I don't consider Plume to be anything other than a BOWWOW!. Westminster Club Worst in Class SpyBroad Terrier.
