I will point out that the people who are paying the money to the record companies that encourage them to continue to glorify this lifestyle are middle class, white kids and the parents who provide them the money to buy the records.

Rappers and record companies alike know that urban black poor ain't got no money.

Another example of strip clubs luring young girls and women to their destruction.

Indeed, that's what a couple libertarians and liberals tell me. They claim it should be made legalized for "safety". I just saw two specials on TV on prostitution and pornography. Many of the women engaging in these things were abused as a child, have low self esteem, and/or desperately need money. The women who enjoy it seem to be the exception, not the rule. They claim the life is quite depressing, as they realize people are only using them as sexual objects. While some end up with diseases, others end up turning to drugs to heal the pain. Many say they'd get out if possible or if they were able to find a job that could support them.

I doubt anyone thinks that child prostitution is ok. There are lots of things that are ok for adults to do but not for children to do.

No doubt that's true, but is that a reason to restrict their liberties? I mean, the reason they take these jobs is that they are the best alternatives in their shi**y lives, I don't see how restricting their alternatives helps them.

Many say they'd get out if possible or if they were able to find a job that could support them.

Well sure. People take jobs they don't like when they can't get better ones. I'd bet if you asked every McDonalds employee if they would like to get out of hamburger flipping that they would all say yes. Does that mean we should ban hamburger flipping?

There is no need to fill my head with anything demented: were you to study history [in its more interesting branch of what and how people used to do to one another], you would know that I merely described the 14-17 century punishment for sexual offenders in Central and Eastern Europe. I am not sure of when it started, probably even earlier than 14th century, but the last example of this technique I remember reading about dated to late 1660s. History can be a very interesting thing, if one approaches its study at a proper angle.

Corey Davis, a 35-year-old alleged pimp from Queens, is accused of beating the girls into submission and, with the help of an older prostitute he used as an enforcer, collecting whatever the girls made from the sex trade.

Davis, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday, liked to spend the money on ostentatious baubles. When the FBI arrested him in December, Davis was wearing a $91,000 diamond-studded Jacob & Co. watch. He had a $500 earring stuck in his ear, $14,000 in diamond-studded silver rings on his fingers and a $4,500 silver-and-diamond necklace around his neck.

There was $4,200 in folding money in his pants pocket and another $25,000 in his white, two-seat Mercedes-Benz. According to the indictment, Davis, who liked to call himself "Magnificent," also kept a second Mercedes, which was silver.

I honestly don't believe that liberties our founding fathers and soldiers fought for include the sale of sex for money. Sex shouldn't be considered free speech. It certainly would save them from getting into a horrible lifestyle where they are seen as nothing more than objects of sexual pleasure.

"Well sure. People take jobs they don't like when they can't get better ones. I'd bet if you asked every McDonalds employee if they would like to get out of hamburger flipping that they would all say yes. Does that mean we should ban hamburger flipping?"

Hamburger flipping is not demeaning or exploiting. It's mroe a normal job in our capitalistic society and there is nothing wrong with it. Let me put it this way, would you prefer your child to flip burgers or become a prostitute/porn star? Or would you prefer your child to marry someone that flips burgers for a living or is a prostitute/porn star?

Some crimes call for Vlad's type of cruel and unusual punishment:

Perhaps, but how did that answer my question? You said that these women were abused. I asked if that was a good reason to restrict their liberties. What you said above does not answer that at all.

OK fine. However you used the argument that prostitution should be illegal because most women wouldn't do it if they could get better jobs. I pointed out other jobs that people don't want to do. So, I am just pointing out that the desireability of a job in and of itself is not a good reason to ban it.

Let me put it this way, would you prefer your child to flip burgers or become a prostitute/porn star? Or would you prefer your child to marry someone that flips burgers for a living or is a prostitute/porn star?

It's obvious what the answer is. It's fine that you think prostitution should be banned because it is immoral, harms people, etc. etc. In the post I first responded to, however, you threw up all sorts of arguments that really don't stand up to sunlight, as evidenced by the fact that you don't even attempt to defend them, you instead resort to the mainstream view (which is fine, I'm not really arguing with) that its immoral, harms the ho's, etc.

I guess what I meant is I don't think not permitting prostitution or porn would be restricting their liberties as I don't believe selling one's body for sex is a liberty.

"OK fine. However you used the argument that prostitution should be illegal because most women wouldn't do it if they could get better jobs. I pointed out other jobs that people don't want to do. Yes, that would certainly be true with some jobs. In this particular job, though, I just think women are often taken advantage of in ways that people in other jobs usually are not.

Lastly, I don't really think my view is mainstream. It seems that many people like porn and the hard core strip clubs (I mean the ones where the girls must be nude or almost nude and stimulate sex acts). There are plenty of people that also think prostitution should be legalized. I would imagine in a national vote, most people would want these things to remain legal. I disagree, but I think I'm in the minority so I doubt things will change any time soon.

That's absolutely true. This stuff is being pushed on everytone. And the "thug" or "pimp" is somehow held out by the media as every young man's ideal.
