Most of my school is pretty apathetic but in my AP government class there are a few left wing koolaid drinkers. I'm one of two conservatives in that class and we usually put up a pretty good fight. It doesn't help when your teacher is the ideological equivalent of Dennis Kucinich though I've actually converted a couple of my friends who were once ignorant leftists.

If any of the middle of the roaders saw some of these speakers they would understand what liberalism is really about. Ann Coulter said it best when she said that most people only consider themselves liberals because its a nicer sounding word than conservative.

Yes, you and Ann Coulter are right. Also, leftists act on their feelings, and conservatives use logic. Feelings trump thoughts because they are deeper in the brain. Ir is really hard to argue with feelings. Which is why they can brush off our arguments.

I have trained myself to say "how do you feel about..." when I am talking to a liberal. They can answer that type of question, keeping a dialogue open, much better than a "what do you think about..." which they hear as an attack on their 'sensibilities' for the poor or the planet or whatever feelgood cause.
