There are probably better, more cohesive explanations of what happened at Ruby Ridge, but this video puts a human face on some of it.

To me the most interesting aspect of the whole Ruby Ridge fiasco was the trial and jury. They clearly knew and understood their rights and duty as jurors meaning the govt. didn't get a predetermined outcome that most of us expected.

I wonder if Randy Weaver had any input on that goverment murder of his wife for this presentation?

Randy Weaver was an idiot. His stupidity cost the lives of his wife and son. He made the decision to hole up and risk thier lives.
I agree that assault was completely overdone and mismanaged, but in the end Randy Weaver shoulders full responsibility. JMHO

Strange outlook. So the guy who pulled the trigger and killed his wife and kid has what?
No responsibility?
The LEO further up the food chain apparently shoulders no responsibility for setting the rules of engagement?

The assault was completely overdone and misanaged. I think you could have just left it right there. Had it not, his family would still be alive.
To: DainBramage
Are you folks kidding me or what? Do you know anything about what happened? His little son was shot and killed. His unarmed wife was shot in the head by an FBI Sniper while holding an infant child in her arms. The FBI had ILLEGAL shoot to kill orders. Why? because he failed to show up for court. Then they repeated all the mistakes in Waco. All this while ignoring radical Islam...

The reality of life is that there is seldom a single cause of anything ,but several small actions coming together for either good or bad events.

Like in most police car chases.... the best thing to do is to actually back off a bit... keep the perp under surveillance.... wait till he cools down a bit and slows down.... and then apprehend him when it scales tip towards the LEO's advantage thus lessening the risk to others in the vicinity.
With Weaver....set up a scout team or two at a distance and wait a month, or two... or what ever.... until he comes out of his little compound and then pinch him when he's on his way back into town on a dirt road out in the middle of bubble-fook.
Weavers "situation" just proves how stupid it is to have a military response to a nut ball holed up in his home......just government trying to play Rambo and try out some new toys...

Weaver was of no danger to anyone till he was surrounded and cornered. The original crime that he was eventually convicted of brought him less than a year in jail.
If they wanted to arrest him that badly they could have simply waited till he went to town and done it then.

So, I guess his strange lifestyle absolves the LEO who decided to shoot his innocent wife in the head of any responsibility. Or maybe you feel that LEOs can do no wrong.

Agree, but they (LEO) might have been better served to just take five...
watch him... set up some motion detectors on the dirt road leading to town and just wait it out. It would have been financially cheaper... and the Government would more than likely have come out of the whole mess smelling like roses instead of a pile of cow dung.
Sometimes less is more.

Doesn't look like FULL responsibility. The government and its agents are responsible to fllow rules of engagement and decisions of an on scene commander. Otherwise it might poke holes in a building, shoot gas into it, and burn a bunch of children to death. Oh, I'm sorry, they already did that.

agree 100%.
Mismanagement at the top by Rambo types always leads to this same scenario.

The rules of engagement imposed on our fighting men and women in Iraq are much more stringent than the rules of engagement that the FBI issued in the case of Ruby Ridge. They will back up those rules with a court martial if necessary. Think about it.
Also that shot that Len Hourrachi (spelling) made that killed Weavers' wife was a very easy shot at that distance. When he killed her that is who he intended to kill when he pulled the trigger. I do not blame Hourrachi, he was a sniper that was following his instructions. His superiors are guilty of murder. They issued the orders and rules of engagement.
I would also like to comment that I have no admiration for either side of the conflict at Ruby Ridge.
