I hope some really smart lawyer will help them out here. Maybe they could come up with a way to tax the illegals.

It's time for Conservatives to put their money where their mouths are. This is a very, very important precedent.

Wasn't there some township that passed a law requiring anyone who sued to pay all the legal fees? That would be the way to go.
The other way would be for all communities to start passing these laws. Maybe we could bankrupt the ACLU, Democrats and the socialist/left in this country.

Cities and towns across the country will start passing these laws only if Hazleton wins this. If we let the ACLU defeat Hazleton then towns will be too afraid to enforce the law. We can't let the liberals win this one. It's too important.

The problem Hazleton faces is we're no longer a country of law, but one of political correctness. If we were a country of law, then this matter would already been dealt with by the Constitution in favor of Hazleton.

My hometown. Go Lou. See Barletta quote below.
On Wednesday Walczak (ACLU) told Barletta it was unfortunate that gangs had come to Hazleton, but said it also is unfortunate that they have set up in other American towns and cities. Walczak said there is no way to eliminate all crime.
Especially if when youre trying to do it, youre sued, Barletta said.

>>The act imposes a $1,000-per-day fine on any landlord who rents to an illegal immigrant, and it revokes for five years the business license of any employer who hires one.<<
These sort of laws are doomed unless the supreme court reverses precedent. Since local communities were not allowed to pass their own immigration laws against Germans or Japanese during World War 2 laws like this won't pass constitutional muster now. The current situation lacks the fear level of WW2.
This law is even less likely to ever be constitutional because it requires businesses to enforce local immigration laws.
Much smarter are those towns that are getting their law enforcement trained and deputized to enforce Federal law - immigration is clearly the responsibility of the Federal government. We need to work on getting the Federal government to enforce their laws rather than encouraging unconstitutional approaches. There are also no exceptions for very small business - the compliance cost could put many small businesses out of business.
Georgia's approach is also much more feasible - requiring Federal registration and compliance
>>No contractor or subcontractor who enters a contract with a public employer shall enter into such a contract or subcontract in connection with the physical performance of services within this state unless the contractor or subcontractor registers and participates in the federal work authorization program to verify information of all new employees.<<
There's no problem helping them pay off a debt but this seems to be to fund raising to for future defense of a law that is hopeless.

The court should step in and set a LIMIT to the number of lawyers participating on either side of the case. There's no sense than having more than two lawyers represent either side.
