INDIANAPOLIS — A man accused of stabbing his 11-month-old son in the back with a kitchen knife, then throwing the boy out a car window, was caught Friday and will face attempted murder charges.
Kevin Chandler, 30, was captured about 10:45 a.m. in a Lawrence home, an Indianapolis suburb, by police acting on an anonymous tip from a woman.
Officers met no resistance when they arrived to arrest him, said Sgt. Dale Horstman of the Speedway Police Department.
Speedway Police have charged Chandler with attempted murder and aggravated battery in the attack on his son, Devon Chandler.
Chandler was taken to the Lawrence police station and likely would be transferred to downtown Indianapolis to be booked, Speedway police said.
Police say Chandler stabbed Devon and then dumped the boy out the window of the parked car and onto the pavement Wednesday night. Devon was conscious and the knife was still in his back when he was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The baby underwent surgery at Riley Hospital for Children and was recovering in good condition Friday, police said.

This child's woes are just beginning: Son of Scum and a mother who is deranged for ever haveing anything to do with Scum. As long as it is around such a mother there is little chance of any result but a miserable one for this child.
Ashame really. If he would have resisted, justice could have been served for the cost of a 9mm cartridge.

That's what I was thinking. Must've been some inexperienced cops that couldn't recognize resistance when it was staring them in the face...

The headline was awful, too; when I first read it, I thought to myself that throwing the dad out the window wasn't strong enough punishment for stabbing an 11 month old child.
A few years ago the Detroit cops were none too gentle with a man caught buck naked on his girlfriend's young daughter. The mother filed charges against the cops.
You beat me too it. The guy should be kept conscious for the whole ride down.
You people have no compassion. There has to be something wrong with this guy. Maybe his upbringing. I bet if I was able to chat with him for a few minutes alone I could help him. All I need is a few minutes, about 10 maybe, along with some long rubber tubing and a hacksaw. I can cure him, really... I might also need one of those big nail guns they use for framing houses and some muriatic acid. Oh, and some pruning shears too.
