Rush just asked Tom Delay what he thought of the candidates and when prompted to give his opinion of DH Delay said, to paraphrase; "Duncan is a great conservative but on trade he's a protectionist." Somehow Duncan needs to be able to address this misperception. It's a tough subject for the average voter to wrap their minds around so some thought needs to go into how best to contrast his position with what protectionism really is. Or maybe someone needs to educate Delay!?! ; )
Ping your questions to "Duncan Hunter Ambassador".
That couldn't hurt!
Delay was picked for 'porker of the month'. a title which has never been bestowed on Duncan Hunter.
Here's the list since 2001 of the porkers of the month. Lots of R's and D's there, but no Duncan Hunter or House Armed Services Committe, which he headed .
They do show as porkers among many: Tommy Thompson, Sen. Robert Bennett, Sen. Joe Lieberman , Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison , Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.) , Sen. John Thune,Reps. Tom DeLay , Sens. Hillary Clinton , Sen. Larry Craig

***Actually, the more we have people like Delay keying up on Duncan Hunter over this issue, the more it highlights the fact that the man can attract wide swaths of crossover votes from "fair trade democrats".
