It's New Jersey. We're all just supposed to say "Yes master and thank you for not taking all of it." then hand over the cash.
They don't give a damn about the public and never will.

It's terminally naive not to see why political campaigns are a "dirty" business.
It's because so much money is at stake. The key to great wealth today is to win high elective office. Why is it that politicians will spend millions of their own dollars to win an office that pays less than $200,000 per year?
Even running for office is lucrative. People can keep unspent campaign money given to them by supporters or by the FEC in matching funds. Ask Al Sharpton or Ralph Nader why they want to run for the presidency even though they know that they haven't a chance of winning.
