Governor Deval Patrick today announced a major shakeup of his new administration that includes the resignation of the $72,000-a-year aide he hired for his wife and the addition of new communications and political advisers.

Amy Gorin, whose husband led Patrick's fund-raising committee during the campaign, was hired to handle scheduling and interview requests for Diane Patrick, a law partner at Ropes & Gray. Her resignation comes just 10 weeks into a new administration that has been dogged by missteps.

To help after several weeks of negative press, Joe Landolfi will take over as a senior communications adviser to the governor. Landolfi currently works in the department of administration and finance and has done public relations for several state agencies, according to the administration.

How will Diane possibly manage her schedule without assistance?

Why do I get the sense that over the next four years Coupe Deval will prove to be the consummate finger-pointer?

The last Dem governor we had in MA was Dukakis. There was the feeling at the time (among many) that he was great. He was so good, he became a candidate for president. Then he lost credibility and became a laughingstock.

Patrick has got Dukakis beat. He's a laughingstock right out of the gate. And we've got 4 years to go.

I maintain Howie Carr should go forward with the "Recall Deval" bumper stickers even though the measure doesn't exist. It will get the point across.</p>

I was born and raised in Mass so I know what I'm talking about. The baystate has a history of a Dem legislature, usually by a ratio of about 6 to 1, and a Republican governor. The voters want the nannyism, feminism, racism, liberalism, and just plain old graft and patronage which only Boston Democrats can provide, but they keep this self destructive behavior in place with a Republican governor. This time the voters forgot their common sense and slipped up, probably to be sensitive because Deval is black. Black, white, blue, or green, it doesn't make any difference. A democrat governor in Massachusetts is bad news. Watch for elevated corruption, incompetence, and overstepping in all areas. In four years the baystate will be looking for a Republican again.

Now DP is complaining that he is the "victim" of "hazing" from Beacon Hill.

You couldn't make this stuff up!

This sounds like the same weak, limp-wristed kid that couldn't stand up for himself in school, so he complained to the teacher.
