Here's another.
DuPont, Kevlar and the Dream
During the Gulf War, a kevlar vest making machine at DuPont kept breaking down. It was a dream that helped an engineer figure out a solution.
Kevlar vests were in huge demand during the Gulf War and a special high speed machine was set up to create them. Unfortunately for DuPont and the soldiers, it kept breaking down. Engineers could not figure out what was going wrong.
Finally, one night one of the engineers had a dream. He dreamt he was actually part of the machine, and saw water spraying all over the place, along with hoses and springs. When he woke up, he realized that the hoses must be collapsing, and that springs would help keep them open.
His co-workers were skeptical, but when they investigated the issue, they realized it was true. The dream saved DuPont millions of dollars, and probably many lives as well.
