Aside from the fact that the "View" is on while I'm at work, I would never watch that show. A group of liberal women (there's another more fitting word, but I won't use it here) sitting around cackling about various topics they are ignorant of simply raises the hairs on the back of my neck. Just the thought of having to "view" Rosie results in the sensation of having to launch my lunch. Now there's a piece of work. Simply because she has this forum she can get away with making accusations that the U.S. Government is conducting torture of prisoners with zero evidence that said torture is actually being conducted by members of this government. And, by framing her discussion in this way, she is able to divert attention from the real issue. There are Islamo-facists who want to kill all of us, including Rosie. People of her ilk just don't get it, and never will.

IBD is the only publication which has caught that KSM's affidavit demonstates AQ's tactical link to Iraq
"Of particular interest is the revelation about Mohammed's involvement in the '93 bombing. It shows a linkage not only between the '93 WTC attack and 9/11, but also between Iraq and al-Qaida.

We already know, for instance, that Abdul Rahman Yasin, the Iraqi responsible for carrying out the '93 bombing, found a haven in Iraq for a decade after the attack. Yasin worked closely with another al-Qaida operative, Ramzi Yousef, on the '93 WTC bombing.

For the record, Yousef is Mohammed's nephew. He was described by the National Commission On Terrorism's 9/11 report as 'the mastermind' of the '93 bombing. And according to U.S. intelligence, he got funding from al-Qaida.

Intelligence documents captured in Baghdad in September 2003 show that Yasin and the others received financial aid from the Iraqi government. This raises a big question: Why would Iraq, under international scrutiny for both WMD and sanctions, support a known terrorist with ties to al-Qaida? The only reasonable answer is, it wanted to keep Yasin quiet about Iraq's involvement.

There's ample evidence of Iraq's role in 9/11 too. The lead 9/11 hijacker, Mohammed Atta, met at least twice with Iraqi intelligence in Europe before carrying out the attacks. And Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, an Iraqi intelligence operative, attended a key meeting of the 9/11 hijackers and other al-Qaida terrorists in January 2000.

Upon capture, Shakir was found to be in contact with Zahid Sheikh Mohammed, brother of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Iraqi Musab Yasin, brother of Abdul Rahman Yasin, and Ibrahim Ahmad Suleiman, a '93 WTC conspirator."

The left understands the implications of KSM's confession. That's why they're so desperate to dismiss it as exaggeration.

the 1993 attack involved Ramzi Youseff who says KSM is his uncle. Abdul Rahman Yasin was the only bomber to escape justice and fled to Iraq in 1993. His father was an Iraqi. I believe. In 2003 it was big news that Iraq sheltered him though they say they put him in prison. this story died fast once we went into Iraq.

This week I was in D.C. urging my legislators to investigate a critical matter concerning intelligence in the War On Terror.

What I'm about to share with you could be the most important issue regarding intelligence in the War On Terror and yet it is hardly recognized in the intelligence community, by the Bush Administration and by members of Congress.

At the core of the major acts of terrorism against the United States to date, seemingly by al Qaeda, there is a mysterious family from the little known territory of Balochistan (region in Iran/Pakistan/Afghanistan).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balochistan_%28region%29

This family has been the focus of a critical analysis by Dr. Laurie Mylroie, an adjunct fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and author of Study of Revenge: The First World Trade Center Attack and Saddam Hussein's War Against America.

Dr. Mylroie testified before the 9/11 Commission in July of 2003:

http://www.9-11commission.gov/hearings/hearing3/witness_mylroie.htm

I have been working with Dr. Mylroie on her investigation since the early 1990s.

In March of 2003, I met Laurie for lunch in Washington D.C. to discuss intelligence surrounding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) and his possible linkage to Iraq’s Mukhabarrat (Baath Party secret police). Low and behold, just before going to meet her that day, news broke of Khalid Mohammed's arrest – a very important point for our work.

What I met with her to discuss, she spelled out in an article published by the Wall Street Journal on the eve of the Iraq War, "The Baluch Connection":

http://www.spiritoftruth.org/ksm.htm

The case she presents is further elaborated on in a New York Sun article, "All In The Family":

http://www.benadorassociates.com/article/5451

and an American Spectator article, "Al Qaeda's Hidden Roots":

http://www.spectator.org/util/print.asp?art_id=10379

The most important and recent article regarding the case she is making is the American Spectator article dubbed, "How Little We Know":

http://www.lauriemylroie.com/files/Mylroie_How_Little_We_Know_TAS.pdf

The two most notorious terrorist figures from this Baluch family are Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), the mastermind of 9/11:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalid_Shaikh_Mohammed

and his “nephew”, Ramzi Yousef, who masterminded the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and the first attempt to take down the Twin Towers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramzi_Yousef

Other “nephews” of KSM from this mysterious family integrally involved in the terrorist operations against the U.S. by al Qaeda are:

Ammar al-Baluchi (aka Ali Abdul Aziz Ali) – Ramzi Yousef’s first cousin and KSM’s right-hand man and the money man behind 9/11.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Abdul_Aziz_Ali

Abdul Karim (captured in May 2004; his interrogation led to further arrests and the discover of the terrorist plot against U.S. financial centers.)

Abdul Munim (little known) - Brother of Ramzi Yousef and nephew of Khalid Mohammed

Abdul Qadir (little known) - Brother of Ramzi Yousef and nephew of Khalid Mohammed (captured in November 2004)

The problem is that this extraordinary family at the core of al Qaeda’s major terrorist operations against the U.S. to-date may have ceased to exist in 1990. KSM and his nephews may be “legends”, i.e. false identities, stolen from an actual family that lived in Kuwait when Iraq invaded in 1990. This family, which had easy access to the West because of the prior schooling of the REAL KSM and Ramzi Yousef in the U.S. and U.K., respectively, was eliminated and these IDs were provided toterrorist operatives from Baluchistan trained by the Mukhabarrat and possibly other state intelligence organizations. It is unlikely that these operatives are even related to each other.

While this might seem difficult to fathom, it is a point that the U.S. intelligence community is now in a position to verify….something that will likely not occur without prodding by influential political figures.

Since KSM, Ramzi Yousef, Ammar al-Baluchi, Abdul Karim and Abdul Qadir (don’t know about Abdul Munim) are now all in U.S. or Pakistani custody, a DNA comparison is possible. If these individuals are genetically compared and are found not to be related, then the arguments being made by Dr. Mylroie will be substantially corroborated and the central case based upon which the War On Terror is being waged will be radically changed with decisive implications for the viewpoint of the U.S. intelligence community and, in turn, American foreign policy.

The key point here is the Laurie Mylroie's hypothesis is "testable". If the DNA is compared between Khalid Mohammed and his terrorist nephews and it is found that these individuals are not directly related, then there is powerful evidence that this mysterious Baluch family behind almost all of al Qaeda's major attacks against the U.S. including 9/11 is, in fact, a legend drawn from an actual Kuwaiti family that perished when Iraq occupied Kuwait in 1990. This is almost proof positive that Saddam and his Baath Party intelligence services were behind 9/11 and most of the terrorism against America between 1993 and 2001. This, indeed, would justify the war against Iraq.

I'm afraid, however, that the linkages don't necessarily go back to just Iraq. During the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, Balochistan was a hotbed of KGB training and activity since the Baloch insurgency targeted Pakistan, the Mujahadeen's base of operations. This might mean these terrorist operatives were KGB trained. The Mukhabarrat might have been doing Moscow's bidding unwittingly or not. After all, our Communist foes-of-old would certainly gloat at the idea of destroying the World Trade Center and striking the Pentagon....the greatest symbols of American capitalism and imperialism, respectively.

This, I believe, is why Alexander Litvinenko was recently assassinated. He was an associate of mine from 2005. What he revealed that sealed his fate was that Ayman al Zawahiri, al Qaeda's current operational leader and bin Laden's right-hand man, was trained by the KGB:

It's really a shame about Rosie---fifteen or so years ago, in another incarnation as a stand-up comic, she was really good. THEN, as happens often with comics-turned-"pundits"
(Maher-Franken-Richard Belzer, etc) someone in the media, (cable OR MSM) gets wind of them as being a little opinionated and "edgy" and they get a forum---but they're still comedians, not pundits---only this time,as comedians, they're not FUNNY. And a comedian is supposed to be funny.

If we had a real leader, he would have gotten congress on board with a plan for dealing with captured terrorists before he started the prison at Gitmo.

Which of the democrat leadership do you think would have jumped on board the fastest?

Great points - it will be insane if the USA does has not already obtained the available DNA evidence to confirm or refute Mylroie's hypothesis - we have it in our hands to know whether what all her research on this matter points to is in fact the case or not. [of course, even if the "Baluch terrorists" really are a family they still could have been associated with Iraq, etc. just the way that Canadian "jihad family" turned out several terrorists and wannabes.... but it sure would be remarkable if they do turn out to be intelligence "legends" created by Saddam's Mukhabarrat]

It's a false argument.

The war in Iraq is already justified. Hussein's Iraq harbored known international terrorists Abu Abbas, Abu Nidal, and Abu Musab Al Zarqawi prior to our 2003 invasion.

Hussein's Iraq shot at U.S. pilots patrolling the North and South No-Fly Zones over Iraq.

Hussein's Iraq was inviolation of its 1991 surrender agreement to the U.S. regarding showing proof that it had positively destroyed its declared WMD stockpiles.

Hussein's Iraq was in violation of 17 UN resolutions.

That's enough.

We don't need scandals and conspiracy theories, even if they pan out.

Stick to the big picture.

"The war in Iraq is already justified"

I know that and you know that, but close to 70% of the US public (and probably 90% of the rest of the world) has been propagandized ad nauseum and believes the Iraq War was concocted by eviiiil neocons seeking world domination.

Interesting that the article you reference ties Litvinenko's death to discovering that al Quaeda leaders may have been trained by KGB.

*If* that is so, it raises and interesting question if it was happenstance or deliberate.

Is this the Cold War going Hot under a disguise??? With Putin, it isn't really so silly to ask.
