And claims it's mostly "conservative" families sending their kids to die in Iraq
BBSNews Commentary 2007-03-14 -- Republican Representative Duncan Hunter from California, brushing up his "conservative" credentials for a run for the US presidency, backed General Peter Pace on his stance on anti-gay bigotry in an editorial today in USA Today. Hunter writes:

"Gen. Pace's principles reflect the strong aversion of our Marines and soldiers to homosexual conduct. These moral principles also reflect the position of the predominantly conservative families who send there young men and women to serve in the U.S. military."
What is "conservative" about about a politician, in this case Duncan Hunter, simply and clearly misleading readers into thinking that there is an imaginary "aversion" to gays not having to hide like second class citizens in the military?
And where does Hunter get off claiming that it's "conservative" families kids who are fighting the nations wars?
There nothing conservative about stating things that are not true and worse yet, pretending these utterances are factual when reality and facts tell a different story.
Zogby ran a poll of troops who served in Iraq and Afghanistan recently and one out of four knows someone who is serving and gay. More than half of them were told by the service member. The survey said:

Hurray for General Pace!
No bias here. Just move on.
Hunter has the stones to stand up to the gay lobby.
He's done.
Well they do call themselves B-BS.
"....He's done."
Yep, he should have just kept quiet.
Yeah, the men know who is gay. Tha's called self-protection.
Yeah, the men know who is gay. That's called self-protection.
I've been leaning toward Hunter. I'm sold now. Not so much for his opinions on the matter, which most people share, but on his willingness to speak clearly and unapologetically.
I'm tired of conservatives who mince words, and try to get elected by sliding in under the radar somehow. Pace is right. Hunter is right. Anyone running for office who can't back Pace right now while he's under fire is not worthy of being Pace's commander.
I like Hunter more and more. By the way I was in the Marine Corps and we did not know who was gay - how can you tell?
Well, there goes the homosexual vote! Oh, never mind.
Yes, yet another Soros disciple strikes! Peter Pace didn't get to be General by deserting his convictions. And neither will Duncan Hunter in his run for the White House. The barrage from the Left PROVES he is on the Right Road! GO DUNCAN HUNTER!
It looks like Hunter is stepping on some manicured and painted toenails. I like it and he'll get another contribution for his campaign because we need to hear more from him.
There's nothing wrong with General Pace's comments about homosexual acts. The libs don't like it because it is a judgement of one of their basic beliefs.

..this BBS says it is a Conservative News Source--that's a joke right?
A Zogby poll? How reliable can that be? PLEASE!
Maybe I should not have reacted so quickly and harshly, BBSNews.Net says they are Your true conservative news source. Human Rights, Science, Fact, all are under threat... Don't let it happen. Stay Informed. Ask Questions.
I guess I should take them at their word /Sarcasm
Looks like Hunter might be making headway in someone's internal polls.
It REALLY pisses me off when these groups want you to apologize for what you may believe. They want everyone to tolerate them and their lifestyle but WILL NOT tolerate those who disagree with that lifestyle.
No, these groups do not want you to just TOLERATE their lifestyle...they want you to PROMOTE it.
