Palestinian Authority security sources told The Jerusalem Post they were looking into reports that the BBC journalists kidnappers were aided by local Palestinian reporters. 
According to the sources, Palestinian journalists working with the international media in the Gaza Strip were linked to previous abductions of foreign journalists

    Why kidnap one of your allies? I wonder if this will turn out to be one of those "kidnappings" where upon release the former "captive" sings the praises of his "captors" and decries the horrible "suffering" of the Palestinians under the Israeli "occupation".

    You are very cynical.Unfortunately, it's not pure cynicism. It's born of experience with similar escapades in the past.
(By "experience", I mean the way some previous "kidnappings" worked out in the press, not that I was personally involved. :-)
