So if the Sun decides it wants an ice age can we all sue Britain?

He said that it provided a robust framework “for managing carbon and allocating responsibility” for emission cuts to turn Britain into a low-carbon economy.

Do they mean low "carbs" instead?

What a scam.

What is really driving this carbon madness? Population control?

Are the sacrificing the word's human population to the earth goddess?

They can set all the goals they want, and generate all the positive publicity that comes with latching onto the environmental agenda, but every report shows that Europe, despite agreeing to the Kyoto Protocols, has hardly slowed down their greenhouse emissions. So, when facts are reviewed, it's all a bunch of "hot air".

The Brits used to be sensible people. Now they're going off the deep end. Even the Canadians have realized that Kyoto is a bogus ripoff. Looks like the Brits have the Global Warming Fever bad. Maybe it was all that tainted beef ("mad cow") they ate in the 90's, now all their brains are turning to mush.

"What is really driving this carbon madness?"

Yes, yes, yes! Whom are the politicians trying to succor, and whyme?

It makes no rational sense...like killing yourself to prove how much you love somebody.

England will become a third-world, welfare state....just before they build the minarets over the Tower.

This is completely nuts.

You've got a handful of socielist backed so-called "scientists" who can barely spell their names promoting the fairy tale of "Global warming" as a man-made technology-driven event and the rest of the actually credible scientific community flatly stating the causes are either part of a cyclical solar event or "other" potential cause.

So you enact legislation to cripple your society at the behest of the "nutter" crowd.

Brilliant...just brilliant...

It is sad that the Brits wish to nueter themselves with global warming hysteria, this is rather foolish on their part.

Britain has so many socialist stooges it's unbeleivable! Good God how stupid these people are. Throwing their economy into the tank for some phoney global warming nonsense. So be it, more of the world's share of trade for the US.

to sign up to long-term greenhouse gas cuts to ensure global temperature rises are limited to 2-3C (3.6-5.4F), in line with the Stern report.

FLAMING IDIOTS! Who was that king that commanded the sea be whipped for sinking his ships?

The UK will be the first country to impose legally binding five-year limits on carbon emissions as ministers aim to set an example to the world on how to beat climate change.

Is there a word for "beyond stupid?" The UK itself produced a documentary debunking the carbon dioxide/climate change connection. Carbon dioxide increases after and as a result of global warming. Carbon dioxide does NOT cause global warming! The embarrassment and stupidity of such a billion dollar blunder is beyond words! But have you ever witnessed a politician really admit a mistake? After all they are lawyers not scientists for the most part!

Failure to meet the statutory targets will not result in criminal charges but, said Mr Miliband, the courts will have the power to force the Government to purchase carbon credits to reach the targets.

Glad I'm not a British taxpayer.

Funny thing is the Euroweenies are exceeding emissions goals far more than we are.

I am. Guess how I feel about this :0(

AGW is such a stupid and obvious scam - and I believe it's reached its tipping point in the media. But our elite Government has long since insulated itself from reality.
