The London-based Arabic language newspaper A-Sharq al-Awsat reported Wednesday that the Iranian army has lost contact with one of its high-ranking officers based in Iraq.
The report states that the officer, Mohammed Muhsayin Shiradi, from a unit in the Jerusalem Brigade, has not been in touch with his commanders for three weeks.
A senior source in the Iranian military told the newspaper that it is possible that Shiradi has been arrested by American forces.

So no one thinks this is just a regular Army officer....lets make it clear what the Jerusalem Brigade is .....it is the Qods force....Iranian special forces.

he either is spilling everything he knows willingly or spilling everything he knows under extreme duress.
Hopefully his entire family is safe in the west and he is assisting willingly.
Now let's go get another one or 20.

The Iranian source said that it is still unclear why contact with the officer, Colonel Amir Muhammad Shirazi, was lost. "It is possible that the American forces in Iraq arrested him along with a group of 13 Iranian military and intelligence officials," he said.

The article misstated what happened to the man. He was not arrested, he was captured on the battlefield.

Or he simply wised up and realizes he can make an exit, and perhaps have his family slipped out of Iran and take on a life of luxuary in some western land. I for one do not forget there are probably a lot of Iranian military officers that want no part of the Mullahs. Many of them would much rather be interfacing with the US with no frictions between the two countries. These guys are not stupid, nor radical Islamist, they are military people who take on different views then the politicians. I'll bet you a dime this Shiradi thinks guys like Sadr are nothing more then POS, that seek power then mislead their people.
