Bob Shrum, despite his abysmal record in electing presidential candidates, remains a fairly powerful Dem consultant. Just my opinion, he's doing this to land his next job with Hillary.
Or maybe Obama. I've never really seen Shrum linked to the Clinton circle (much more Kennedy). Maybe he's playing his charlatan magic for the inexperienced Obama advisors. Either way, this is all about Bob getting a new job.
I like the way the Edwards campaign had an immediate, canned response. They knew this was coming.

Bob Shrum is writing a memoir! This ought to be a huge best-seller. I don't think the DNC is going to buy up all copies in order to save this moron's bacon. Only in America

Bob Shrum: 0 for 11. Only liberals gets elevated the more they lose.
My favorite Bob Shrum story, prematurely quoted as saying to John Kerry "may I be the first to address you as Mr. President?"

"Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards was skeptical about voting for the Iraq war resolution and was pushed into it by advisers looking out for his political future"
.... and this is supposed to make anyone think better of the strategic judgment and intellectual character of the Breck Girl???? Let's see, you are facing the most important vote of your political career, on a vital issue of war and peace, and now we are told that the Breck Girl's inner secret instincts were sound (by the lights of the the current BDS political psychotics who dominate the Demagogic Party), but that he allowed himself to be influenced by morons like Bob Shrum who were looking out for his future "political career"...... so for the left he is merely a spineless hack who voted "pro war" to preserve his political viability, while for everyone else he is merely a spineless hack who would rather vote wrong (according to him now) on a matter of the gravest consequence to the nation and the world than to stand on his judgment......
Oh, YEAH, you are a true "profile in courage" aren't you Ms. Breck Girl?

The breck girl doesn't have the balls to make what he feels is the right decision, how am I to trust he would do it on any other issue. What horse crap!

Bob Shrum: 0 for 11. Only liberals gets elevated the more they lose. What a great title for his memoir: "Oh For 11", with a special addendum after Edwards loses, titled "The Dirty Dozen".
